They need to discontinue the iPad Mini. That's the best way to shut people up about it needs X feature or it need Y display type. With all the credible rumors on this site there are only 3 models in the pipeline and they have been delayed. th

I for one am enjoying my 9.7" Pro aka the new smallest iPad. Apple did this recently Remeber the 4.0" iPhone 5s. No one complained when Apple upsized to the 4.5" iPhone 6 and 5.5" iPhone 6 Plus.

The smaller device got no updates and were left as bargain devices. Apple isn't bringing back Mini 4.0" iPhones.

And lastly there will be 3 Devices in the iPad category and 3 devices in the iPhone category same as the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines each has 3 options.

MacBook Pro Non Touchbar
MacBook Pro 13" Touchbar
MacBook Pro 15" Touchbar.

IPad Pro 9.7" Bargain price only new CPU update
IPad Pro 10.5" minimal bezels same size as old 9.7" iPad
IPad Pro 12.9" 4K resolution HDR display

IPhone 7s 4.6"
IPhone 7s Plus 5.5"
IPhone Pro 5.8" OLED HDR Display No home button 10th Anniversary Limited Collectors Edition Special luxury packaging. Limited Numbered only way to get one is by showing you own an original 2007 Launch IPhone 1 they use your Serial Number and you will be notified via Twitter if you have been chosen to buy one.
IPhone Pro 5.8" OLED HDR Display mass market version. Plain white packaging. No home button.

This Septembers Keynote will one for the record books.

Lol...this has to be one of the strangest posts I've read here in a while. Why would a for-profit company want to "shut people up" about a device that sells well and brings in a profit? That's just not how companies function. Sorry you personally don't like the mini for whatever reason but there are many of us out there who aren't you, and who do enjoy the 7.9" size.

honestly it's hard to see the mini getting any update..there has been no rumours to suggest thats the case

My money is on the mini being split like the others so we have a pro varient.

Honestly they won't dump the mini its the device that competes against the fire tablets and smaller android devices.

Not at current Mini entry-level prices. Apple seems to treat the iPad Mini line similar to the iPod Touch - lower markup "budget" offering so it mostly only gets trickle down tech.

I expect if the small form factor and 2048*1536 retina upgrade didn't require a much faster but power efficient processor and 1GB RAM, the iPad Mini 2 would have gotten an A6 CPU instead of A7.

How to shut up people who won't shut up about how the iPad mini needs to be discontinued? Release a new iPad mini! Bwa-ha-ha!

Seriously. This is a rumor site. Just because there haven't been rumors about the mini being updated doesn't mean it won't be updated! Nobody knows. We just have to wait and see what apple will do.

Personally, I'm one of those who love the iPad mini size. I want to upgrade to a pro to be able to use the apple pencil...so am hoping the mini gets a pro version.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

To force mini users to buy pro version at higher price.

Fine by me as long as it has the 7.9" form factor. Call it what you will - iPad min pro, just an updated iPad mini 5, or whatever - but if it doesn't have that screen or one comparable to it I'm not buying it. Minor price increases are fine to me personally if the performance and spec improvements match the increase.

Got to be the craziest post i ever saw- having a pamprin day are we?

"No one complained when Apple upsized to the 4.5" iPhone 6 and 5.5" iPhone 6 Plus."- ya right- one of the most nutty statements i ever heard. I remember the posts here- thus the se model was released.

"I for one am enjoying my 9.7" Pro aka the new smallest iPad" - who cares- i don't

I have had every ipad on every release and the most enjoyable and go to size for me is the mini.
Easier to carry, transport and use.
And for children , the most popular.
Least we forget that the mini outsold all other ipads during the last 3 christmas seasons.
There will be a mini update- hope it gains the specs of the pro version.
We will not see a yearly update anymore , under tim cook.

You're putting too much thought into this...if the Mini is unimportant to you, why do you care?

Why would Apple need or want to "shut people up" about the Mini? People on boards like this one tend to have a very skewed view of consumers. Believe me, no one at Apple is losing sleep over what features people on forums are demanding for the Mini. All that matters is that they are still selling well enough to keep producing.

My set is the 2012 Mac Mini, iPad Mini 4 and iPhone SE. It's mini all the way and each of these models is in "incredibly" high demand, as Apple would say.

I do not look forward to any of these lines being discontinued; on the contrary, I want them to be upgraded so I can buy more in due course.

Why would they need to shut people up about it? From a marketing standpoint, nothing is better than people talking about your products, especially when they want to upgrade. It creates excitement. Apple doesn't want to shut them up. There is no such thing as bad publicity
Plenty of people complained when they made the iphones larger, that is why they still make a smaller size. And your crazy if you think that Apple will make a "limited collectors edition". All of their phones are collectors editions.

I have a 9.7" Pro as well as a Mini 4. I still prefer the Mini for portability and to hold it with one hand for reading books without getting tired.
[doublepost=1485388293][/doublepost]With a question mark over its fate and afraid it might be dropped, I am glad I bought a 128gb iPad Mini last month, after seeing here that Best Buy took $100 off the price. I like audio jacks and don't mind bezels, and the Mini is just right size/weight for use around the house.

(In August, I bought an iPod Touch for the same reason, I like the device and Apple will likely drop it. I feel I am covered for a long time, now that I have these two new ones, plus my still functioning 2012 iPod Touch and iPad Mini.)
