Not exactly, you get a 3yr hardware warranty. Applecare adds phone support 3yr and also they will send a courier to collect and return if you have full applecare. If you just have the HE warranty then you either have to get the product to a genius bar (nearest to me is 2hr drive) or pay to send back.

you can upgrade to full applecare with phone support for £50

and you can also take your broken laptop to an authorised repairer (did it with my old MBP)

+1. This is why the UK edu store rocks.

I remember being told the discounts a while ago. the standard education is like 6% but theres another 2 for college and university. I think its 14% for university students and possibly 9-11% for college.

Your best bet is to call up and get a definitive answer rather than just looking online as your results may vary ;)

If you're not doing build to order, you save much more shopping at Amazon on the final total.

if you do build to order, you have no chance. At least on build to order you also save a bit on the processor upgrade, ram upgrade, etc. albeit just a few dollars difference.

Check out the MacMall.com

I saw the EDU pricing and was a bit disappointed. My wife works part time at a college and it would be nice to take advantage of her work id :D

If the apple stores have the 4gb 11" model in stock, perhaps I'd be able to convince my wife of a road trip to New Hampshire (no sales tax) ;)

Just ordered from them, tho the 2.13 4/256 is backordered til 11/5... perhaps the savings of no sales tax and $100 off applestore price will get some heavy duty kleenex waiting...

ps they offer some cheesy rebate netting u free parallels 5 and hp deskjet.. i dont need them but i got em all the same - free shipping all the same

Ok i just went to macmall.com and they have the MBA for 2-3% off totaling $20-$50 off. Where do you see it $100 off the retail price??? Am i missing it?
