Hmmm... have to think now, are we heading towards lots of wireless and cellular issues with the XS? The X is gonna be pretty tempting if so! I wonder if the John Lewis ones come with the Qualcomm modems?

Its nothing to do with the baseband/modem. Its all to do with the antenna redesign.

That said Apple only started using Intel with the 2018 models.

Ah right. Fair enough.

I will be checking out all the iPhones at the Apple store next week, see which way I go. Now the excitement has calmed down, it’s the case of do you want to spend a grand on a phone? iOS 12 has made the older phones significantly faster.

But.... the camera on the XS is so far mind blowing! Not all, but most of the photos in the other thread make it worth that extra 100. I will be testing the camera out in the store.

Very tempted by the JL offer. Just debating weather to buy it or get an XS for a hundred more.
If it’s 899 vs 999 I’d go for the XS all day and night long - the camera on the XS is finally beyond 2010 standard. They kept the 1/3” sensor and mono audio recording way way too long - if you care even remotely about the photos and videos you take the £100 is comfortably worth it!

Hi guys , I’m in the reverse situation, I was set on the max gold but the signal issues etc are holding me back I was all ready to sell my x 256 silver still with screen protector spigen case from day one box stickers etc from Apple last year at launch , what would I be looking at price wise.

Yes the camera does seem to be stunning, but, it also needs to work as a mobile phone. I think we need to wait and see how this cellular and WiFi reception issue affects U.K. models, I’m on O2’s network and can just about get 4G in my home, I’d like to get the same on a phone costing a grand!

I can get an iPhone X from Argos for £810 new.. (staff discount)

I was really starting to enjoy the XS I had (for less than 24 hours.)

The X has been manufactured for longer so any kinks in that process should have been ironed out. I really doubt the Argos refund process is going to be as generous as Apples though.

I think the West Quay store had a dodgy batch of XS. Mine wasn’t the first that was seen that had a gap down the side of the screen / steel band. Even the staff member commented that hers was similar though not quite as bad.

I either wait 6 months and retry the IUP (XS) or get an X. They’re beautiful devices but boy for £1000 they need to be perfect!

I have to admit the camera tempts me, though I think I will stay put with my 8 plus and try to see if Apple will move on from Face ID. The reason I’m particularly worried is I have noticed it flashing randomly (ie not when authenticating) in reviews and I’m not honestly sure I’d want it randomly blasting me with IR throughout the day. I’d probably turn faceID off altogether and just use a passcode, but that’s just another reason to hold out a bit longer.

I wasn’t aware the signal issues were on the XS - I’d thought they were limited to the Max? Though I guess it makes sense as the two share so many components...

on some forums I use (not mobile phone forums) I believe the going rate for an unlocked pristine X 256GB is between £650-£700. I'd rather sell on those forums to trusted members before putting on eBay or CEX or Music Magpie as you will get ripped off. I'm in the market for a 256GB x pristine and unlocked actually and if I can get one for £650 I'd be very happy with that.

My new XS Max arrives today, so my pristine X 256GB will be up for sale soon - boxed with untouched accessories AND still has 1 year of AppleCare+ remaining......

Very only sell brand new mate, they are a company like John Lewis etc they don’t deal with used items

Hi, I buy Apple gear from Very all the time with the deals they have. The stuff looks like it's shipped direct from an Apple warehouse to be honest. And yes, pay upfront as they have some weird interest that kicks in lol.

Approximately 3 people queued at the Apple Store in my capital city today lol.

It was similar last year but maybe around 15 people. The buzz and hype has been diminishing here over the past few years I have to say. Probably more interest in the now cheaper X.
Or people just online shop...
[doublepost=1537985166][/doublepost]Very.
£849 iPhone X.
And If you sign up to their BNPL service, get 10% off your first order.
Which will take it to £764

Yeah I don’t know anybody who buys their iPhone from the Apple Store personally as it’s easier to buy online. The Apple Store in Cardiff used to get quite a queue though but hasn’t for a couple of years on launch days.

Nice price for the iPhone X you posted there but I’ve already upgraded in the last few days lol. No regrets though.
