How do I do that?

I just restored as new, 7.1.2 and Jailbroke before restoring from backup. Downloaded SwipeNav, still not working in Messages. Wtf??

Once you restore from backup, it brings over those plist files. When we say restore as new, it means NOT restoring a back up and only syncing content via iTunes and/or iCloud.

HenryLong suggested manually deleting the plist file for SwipeNav. I second this idea. If you use iFile, just make sure to empty the trash can if that option is enabled. After you delete the file, installing SwipeNav will be like the first time ever installing it. There will be no saved settings.

Either way, can't say for sure that it'll work in messages.

Also, just curious, but why do you need this to work in messages when you already have the stock feature of swiping back?

I completely restored my phone again to 7.1.2, did not restore from backup in iTunes yet. I re-jailbroke and installed SwipeNav, still doesn't work in Messages. Would I still need to delete the plist file?

The stock swiping back feature is not the same, you have to swipe from the far left edge of the screen whereas in SwipeNav you can swipe from anywhere....it is much smoother. I have been very frustrated that it hasn't worked in Messages ever since I updated to iOS 7 in Feb.

How do I delete it in ifile? Where do I find this specific plist file, and what will it be called?

Please do not log off and disappear, I am going nuts right now, I really need some help.

You do not need to delete the file if you restored as new and didn't restore your backup.

If it's not working then unfortunately that feature just does not work on 7.1.2 for that device. Or maybe it's not working for 7.1.2 for all devices.

Your best bet is to contact the dev and ask to get it updated so that it works in the messages app.

I just downloaded SwipeNav and tried it myself. I also tried every combination of advanced settings and it does not work in the messages app. FYI, I am using bitesms too. But I do t think that should matter.

Also, for whatever it's worth, it doesn't work in safari either.

I think your best bet is to contact the dev and ask him to add it in the next update.

I never told you it worked. This is the first time I have installed it.

HenryLong told you it worked.

This tweak can't work in iOS 7 because when you swipe right it shows the timestamps.

My mistake, the H's threw me off.

The time stamps are revealed when you swipe right to left, not left to right so there is no conflict.

When I swipe left to right in the messages app it returns to the convo list.

Is this something you don't want to happen?

When you swipe from the far left edge right it returns to the convo list, not the same action. SwipeNav lets you swipe right from anywhere on the screen, much smoother easier and faster.

Also, what conflict were you describing with the time stamp? You swipe left to display time stamps, SwipeNav is right swipe.

Didn't realize you could swipe anywhere. That's a nice feature.

Yeah it's amazing, one of the best tweaks. It boggles my mind that nobody talks about it yet BiteSMS is so popular, I deleted it the same day. It's most likely just that no one thinks to go out searching on their own and only downloads tweaks that are recommended them or popular.

Extremely frustrating that it doesn't work in Messages since that's where it's most useful and by far my most used app. I can't imagine having to stretch to reach the "back" button in the top left corner to return to the list of conversations on the 5/5S.

You might also like the following tweaks:

CallBar - replaces intrusive incoming call screen with bar at top

DeleteWord - shift/backspace deletes entire words

Springtomize - hide unused stock icons like NewsStand and Stocks, as well as dozens of other features

Clipshot - copies screenshots to clipboard rather than saves them (or you can have it prompt you asking whether you want to save or copy)

Multitasking Gestures - Zephyr clone, look it up, one of the best

Sleipnizer - let's you assign custom gestures to close/open tabs in Safari

Multitasking gestures, Sleipnizer, DeleteWord and SwipeNav are by far and away my favorite and most used tweaks.

You don't have to use the the back button to return to the convo list.

That's a pretty big stretch on a 5S I agree. iOS 7 has gestures built in to many of their apps due to this issue. All you have to do in the messages app is touch the edge of the left side of the screen and swipe to the right. It pretty much like swipenav, but you touch the end of the screen instead of anywhere. It's really cool that iOS 7 added this feature since the 4 inch screen phones are pretty tall for some people to reach for the upper left corner to go back to the previous page.

This might hold you over until swipenav gets updated.

True

One of the best things i like about iOS 7 is having swipenav kinda built in. It works with safari and settings. You would get a cramp in your thumb if that feature wasn't there lol.

Yeah but it's still not as good as SwipeNav.

I agree. However it's not needed to reach for the top left. I thinks that's pretty cool.

Have you heard anything back from the developer?

No, kind of pissing me off. I've been emailing him for months.
