The above comments about keeping the same physical size as the Mini but using a bezel-less design with larger usable screen area are interesting. That would certainly be an acceptable solution for me.

I hope that Apple doesn't think that people are attracted to the Mini because of lower cost. For me, and all other users I know, we want it because of SIZE, and are willing to pay the same price as a larger tablet, assuming that the performance is similar.

I expect this lineup. iPad (7.9 and 9.7) and iPad Pro (10.5 and 12.9).

That would indeed be a nice and clean line-up. I hope the size of 7.9 inch stays, it is the reason I chose an iPad Mini. It is the perfect size for commuting/travelling, and it is easier to handle you sit down in a chair. I mainly browse, tweet and read my e-mails on the iPad, so a bigger size is just not worth it to me.

I've never purchased a mini as I mainly used an iPad (when I had one) at home, but when I handled one, it did feel like a nice sweet spot for portability and function. I am hoping Apple can go even further and align chips between the standard and pro lines. A11 for iPad (7.9 and 9.7), A11X for iPad Pro (10.5 and 12.9).
