Started on Tab S7+ and Fold 3 using Samsung messenger on both. Then switched to Google messenger on both when I got the GW4. Google has it's own intergration, which was simply with a QR code.

Ok so since i pre-ordered the S22 Ultra, I’ve seen the Tab S8 Ultra and i’m now thinking of also ordering one. I already have an iPad Pro but I’m thinking of replacing it with the Tab S8 Ultra. What are the advantages of getting the Tab S8 Ultra to replace my iPad Pro?
I’m already thinking the bigger screen will be great for watching Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube. The only other things i use my iPad Pro for are, drawing, taking notes and multitasking.

The advantage of the S8 Ultra vs the iPad Pro is when you want to trade it in on the next model, the following year. I purchased a S7+ from Samsung that included a pair of Galaxy Buds 2 for $379. That same S7+ was worth $600 towards the trade of any S8 tablet I chose. The iPad Pro is still a great tablet unless you absolutely love Android.
You should be able to draw, take notes and multitask with no problems. You also have DEX if you want to use the tablet as a laptop replacement. It comes in handy with the free Samsung kybd.
I think the Tab S8 Ultra can perform more like a true laptop replacement. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I'm not sure if it will be able to fully replace my iPad Pro though. I have hundreds of movies purchased over the year through iTunes and I don't think there is a way to view these on an Android device.
I have the same, I have a lot of TV shows and movies on iTunes, but I do have a Apple TV hooked up to my Samsung TV. I can watch all my iTunes stuff on there.
I’m interested to know what Apps are available on the Tab S8 Ultra as well. Are they they same as the ones on Google Play store, and on the Galaxy phones? The iPad Pro isn’t really a laptop replacement for me. It can’t even have many windows open at once, 2 in split-screen and the third is like a pull from the right tab.
Check out Moviesanywhere.com if you're US based. It originally started as Disney Movies Anywhere but later expanded to additional movie studios. Basically, they authenticate your purchases from specific studios (Sony, Universal, Disney and WB) from any of their partner merchants (Apple, Google Play, Amazon Prime, Microsoft, VUDU, xfinity, Verizon, DirecTV) and add it to your library on ALL of those sites. So, if you buy Star Wars from iTunes, it will be add to list of purchases/library in Google Play, Amazon, etc). It's not a subscription service--completely free, and they linked purchases retroactive to you actually signing up with Movies Anywhere.
Yea I have 8 Apple TV's between all the bedrooms, living room, and patio. I love the Apple TV devices and iTunes for at home entertainment. My only concern was accessing the content on the S8 Ultra when traveling but it looks like tbayrgs may have mentioned a solution that works for me. Heading to Maui in a couple of weeks and looking forward to giving it a try on the 8+ hour flight.
I'm not sure of the app situation. I haven't had a Android tablet since the Nexus 7 ? I have read that it has improved somewhat. I'm think it's the same apps from the Google Play store that you would download for the phone but many are optimized for tablet use as well.
How's the experience?
I think Canoopsy video was spot on if you are choose between the iPad Pro and Tab S8 Ultra. It all comes down to the apps. And I think the Tab S8 Ultra is a phenomal device, but the apps I like using are not on Android... Affinity Designer, Fantastical, Pixelmater, Procreate and LumaFusion (coming soon).
It's insane. Really one of the best purchases already of 2022. Love it, especially portrait mode browsing and multitasking is so satisfying. It's the best tablet I've had till now. And I still have the 2018 iPad Pro.

I might get it and give it a try, I got 28 days to send it back if I don’t like it. Also if I buy it with the Watch 4, I get an extra 5% off both devices. Samsungs incentives are really good to be fair.
I said to myself i would stick with my iPad Pro but the the multitasking on the ultra is just so much better and it has something i want and thats pop up windows which on a tablet that big will be great.
i think the tab s8 ultra could certainly be my laptop. Files for one would be better for my documents than the ipad i imagine.
That’s what I want too, Proper multitasking. I’ve always got some video playing in the background on YouTube, while doing other things like browsing the internet, writing documents, drawing, taking notes and so on. Plus I noticed that the SPen comes with the Tab S8 Ultra.
The only thing that I’m not sure about is the charger, it doesn’t come in the box but I’m not sure if the Samsung 45W I brought for my S21 Ultra, will work with the Tab S8 Ultra.
The screen is also bigger than on my 12.9” iPad Pro. Which I love the idea of and it may even be better quality.
It's not may, the quality of the screen is a lot better. OLED with unlimited contrast against a LCD or Mini-led with blooming is no comparison.

I might be inclined to believe Best Buy on the delivery date. I feel most pre-ordered directly from Samsung for the pre-order deals.
Definitely don't trust BB.
I preordered the M1 12.9 iPP and received mine five days after release date AND it was given to a courier known to have packages go missing. I was shocked that BB gave a highly sought out model to that particular courier and I was nervous about the whole situation, because the courier decided to not deliver the iPad to me.
Supposedly.... the package was out for delivery, but it never left the facility.
That courier wouldn't happen to be Ontrac would it? Lol
I had the P6 Pro scheduled for delivery from them and got a delivery notice. I work from home and from my office window I can see any vehicle that pulls up to me house. No Ontrac vehicle was at my house.
Long story short...they could see from GPS tracking the truck was never in my area at the time he supposedly delivered my phone. Google had to send a new phone out to me.
Just ordered the S8 Ultra. Trading in my S7+. I have an April 18 date though, but I'm not in a rush to receive it.
Lol… it was through LSO, Lone Star Overnight. I honestly never heard of it, until I googled it. And reading through google reviews and reddit threads… made me skeptical of getting my package successfully.
Once I arrived to get my package at the facility, it took them 5 minutes more or less to find it. Nonetheless, I’m happy to have received it. In retrospect, we get caught up and getting it on release date, but as long as we get in our hands… should be good enough. Because some packages gets lost or stolen.
I’ll bare that in mind. I’ve got money off through my perks at work discount, I get 10% off and if I buy with the Samsung Watch 4, I’ll get another 5% off both devices. It’s very tempting, especially considering I can get the Tab S8 Ultra 512GB with 16GB Ram for £1,067.90
