It looks nice and all but the orientation is wrong. Unless there's a way to change it, I don't think Samsung knows a whole lot about human anatomy.
I think this is the coolest gadget I saw recently..

Yeah I hope so, the rubber just looks kind of flimsy. Also I wonder if the screen orientates itself according to the position of your wrist. That would be neat. As it appears right now, it seems like it would be a strain on your wrist to view it.
Apparently, you haven't seen the Nike+ Fuelband. And by your opinion, Nike doesn't know a lot about human anatomy either, do they?
In fact, here is mine:
That's a very idiotic orientation for a watch. Nike and Samsung both get an F in watch design.
I'm a jawbone UP / Fitbit Flex & Force user so I'm used to having a device monitor my fitness.
The Gear Fit looks nice but......... Will it work with multiple devices or like Gear only with select Galaxy or Note devices.
Will its monitoring be done independently from S-Health which as a piece of software is highly inaccurate.
If it allows me to use it on iOS & Android Devices and Samsung repackage a better App for its data to sync too, I'd be interested.
As it stands I'll stick with independent products.

Galaxy products only
Apparently I read today they are opening it up to third parties with SDK etc.

Interesting, didn't think they were. Would sell Alot more.
Yep it would suddenly make it a device I myself would look at purchasing if true and I actually prefer the look of the Gear Fit than the other Gears.
The Gear SDK is for the Tizen-based Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. Gear Fit doesnt run on Tizen or Android. It runs a RTOS (Real Time OS). Samsung Mobile SDK 1.5 has CUP (Companion UI Profile) to control Gear Fit (http://developer.samsung.com/develop#companion-ui-profile). Gear 2 / Gear Neo / Gear Fit will NOT work with non-Samsung devices.
Devices supported are:
- S5 / S4 / S3 / S4 Zoom/ S4 Active / S4 mini
- Note3 Neo / Grand2 / Note3 / Note 2 / Mega6.3 / Mega 5.8 /
- Note 10.1 2014 / Note pro 12.2 / Note Pro 10.1 / Note pro 8.4 / Tab pro 12.2 / Tab 3
Will it include the life moments stuff as well you are not using a Sony phone?
Are they?

I think the Fit will sell well if it's under $200.
Well we have Nike and many other manufacturers making it this way and millions of users that have no issues with this design, including me. Maybe if you owned one, your opinion would have some merit. But you don't and it doesn't.
When you own something similar, I'll give you some credibility on the matter. Until then, your words amount to useless dribble about a product you know nothing about. This is the last I will discuss the issue with you.I don't need to own one to know that you shouldn't need to turn your head or flex your arm in an unnatural position to line up with the watch.
You do understand the concept that this is a fitness training device with a simple watch face added on? Or did you fail to comprehend what these devices actually do?Glad you're enjoying your mutant, horribly designed watch though. Samsung made this watch for people like you who are willing to compromise on common design sense.
The current gear is $299 right? I would think the current generation would drop drastically in price and the new scheme may be something like:
$350 new gear
$299 the one w/o a camera and speaker phone
$249 for the fit.
