Hirsch Liberty 24mm band in Gold-Brown, added a spring pin adapter, and ended up with my favorite band. Nice and thick, and works perfectly with the Apple Watch.

I would actually say it's the exact opposite of flimsy - it's very sturdy and feels every bit as premium as I would expect the OEM Apple bracelet does... Can only recommend this very much... Bought it here:

....

I would have to agree. I have (I think) the identical band from Amazon. Looks 100% exactly like your picture and its anything but flimsy. In fact I would have to say its the nicest watch band I have ever owned.

Mine is "Space Gray" but it doesn't match the Space Gray Sport exactly....close but it all depends on the lighting. But the band is shiny and the watch is kinda shiny i.e. reflects tones, so as you move they kinda reflect onto each other sharing tones and it creates this perfect blending of colors between the 2. Its hard to explain.

Of course if you look at them really closely or in super bright light you can see the aluminum and stainless don't really match. That bugged me....more than it should have. So bad I drove a 7 hour round trip to the Apple Store today and exchanged it for a real stainless model.

I took enough money to buy the $1,100 Space Black SS with Link band but once I had it in my hands I was shocked at how cheap the Apple Link Band felt. I played with all the bands for a good 2 hours today. It wasn't flimsy but it is super light and thin and the buckle was a real bugger to snap in a hurry because I never quite snaps all the way and popped back open several times. The buckle was definitely flimsy. I was super bummed it wasn't nicer in person, but thankful I saw it in person rather than ordering it online.

I would take the $55 Moko band over the Apple $550 link bracelet any day. Just my $.02

Wow thanks for sharing. Mine is the HOCO so might not be exact same but could be the same Chinese factory ;-)

But yeah feels great all around. Would have thought the Apple one did as well though

I'm looking at getting this 4th gen(?) link bracelet with in Space Gray: http://r.ebay.com/aBqMro. I'm just unsure about the quality. Specifically, can anyone share experiences with the clasp and link removal? I'm also unsure how closely the color matches, but I haven't seen anyone else with it yet.

If you're referring to the 1:1 in that link, they are using apples oem photoshopped pictures, so you haven't even seen a picture of the band yet.

Yeah, I figured, which is why I'm not relying on those for an accurate impression.

Picked up a strap from stone creek straps and I really love it! Adapters are freedom o'clock. Pardon the sunburn I just got back from Florida and the sun won.

that is _really_ nice, hand crafted quality, I guess thats what you're paying for here.

These straps are a piece of artwork http://www.stonecreekstraps.com/About.php by the looks of it.

Thanks for the photos etc

ps that a SS 42mm black? and which strap is it, or is it 'tailor made' to your own specification? cheers

Thanks I really appreciate it! There really aren't any classic leather bands for the black watch so I looked around a while for one and this place was mentioned by a member here. I think she does them all to order so you kind of tell her what you are looking for and she asks a bunch of questions and a little over a month or so later sends along the band. I sent her a link to the adapters I was going to use and she ordered them and then built the band on the adapters so it fits really well. Ended up not being too much more than the classic buckle $160 for band $15 for buckle $7 shipping then the cost of adapters I picked out.

It's a 42mm space black, the adapters were the Utica guy spring ones which fit and match really well, I just looked through her gallery until I found one I liked and modeled it after that. She has a lot of great examples with more exotic materials but I just really gravitated to this one.

So it's basically like the one on the right but modified so the proportions work right with the Apple Watch. She was really great to work with too since I know almost nothing about watches she made sure I understand all the decisions along the way. I'd definitely work with her again if I want another band it was a great experience.

i google and found one space grey 3rd party recommended by 9to5mac . not sure if it is good. but their photo looks good that both their clasp and link quite match the watch color.

Just received my MOKO link bracelet over the weekend. The fit and quality are superb. View attachment 597879 View attachment 597881

Looks nice - very similar design to my HOCO strap (And almost the same name :-D ) Mine is black, but have been a massive fan of it ever since receiving it. Have barely used my leather straps I received the same day, and only the black sports band when I run etc.
