Never thought I wouldn't even think about going to my MBP for some things. Was expecting to enjoy the iPad, but I can't believe how great it runs and how seamless it feels. Anyone else?

Could you explain the "seamless" comment? Since it doesn't multitask, I'm not really getting your point.

I used mine steady from about 1pm yesterday until about 5am this morning, had to charge the battery twice and even then at 5am I started streaming a movie from netflix on it to watch as I fell asleep and I'll be damned if Im not back on it right now within an hour of waking up  it's official I'm addicted.

Seriously, this thing is great! I actually prefer to use this than my MBP for most tasks! I love web browsing, iBooks is awesome, and it's just so portable. This is an awesome device.

Since I'm not a 'power user' of computers in general the iPad is fun to use and I like to be able to hold it.. Honestly most people who use computers just surf the web, check email, Facebook etc, listen to music, and watch videos.. Th iPad is for people who already have a computer and want a different or unique way to experience their multimedia and Internet.

Won't be long for iPhone OS 4.0. But for me I don't mind having pages open with the iPod playing in the background for now.

I'm addicted without regret. You know how when you become addicted to a video game, you can atleast turn it off and switch to another game. I can't possibly imagine anything to replace using the iPad as the previous example.

And I've been using it so much, the onscreen keyboard keys appear to be spinning. Weird.

Exactly. For 99% of people this is 99% of what we do... and this is why we think this thing is awesome.

I'm pleasantly surprised as well at how much I'm enjoying using it. I've been using Pages to work on a school essay and, although the keyboard takes some getting used to, it's a great experience and feels very natural. I gotta admit, I love this thing!

Funny thing, I haven't read a book in probably 20 years but last night I actually downloaded some samples of books just to see what the iBooks was like and I ended up reading every page of them and am going to purchase a few tonight because I was so enthralled with a few of them that I just couldn't stop reading.

Yeah I dl'd War and Peace of all books and read 20pgs so far bc it was just a fun experience... 2000+ more to go! :)

Im completely addicted to it. I have found myself walking away from my mbp time and time again the last two days. I would much rather surf or do normal tasks on my pad than on my mbp. I wonder if this will change in the next few days

I agree completely with this, when I am not coding I use the iPad for nearly everything but gaming. I have also noticed browsing forums and other stuff I do in the background on my home work pc I just don't do while I'm working when i used to. For example, I write code for a couple hours then i take a 30 or so min iPad break then is back to work only on the pc, this has improved my productivity in that way

What if I want to use Pages, Safari and Mail opened at the same time?

If by open at the same time you mean running at the same time, then the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad already do that. Safari and Mail are allowed to run in the background.

Yep me too!
Addicted and proud of it :D

Do they actually "run" in the background as in load up websites and such?

I mean can you hit up safari to load up 4-5 websites then immediatly switch to mail and then go back to safari and the websites will have loaded?

I think there's a limit to how much memory safari will use loading pages, but pretty much yes. It might work better with two or three pages instead of four or five, haven't tried it on the iPad yet.

Was reading ebooks, watching videos, playing games, using apps and downloading videos yesterday for 9 hours straight. Multitasking was not a problem at all since I can task switch.
