I'm definitely addicted. I didn't think I would prefer browsing on this thing over my desktop.

The problem I have had with the lack of multitasking is when I needed to go online for directions (ie exchange server settings). You can't really go back and forth between a specific menu in an app and your browser without restarting the app. So you have to memorize whatever you read in safari etc, then start from the beginning of the app. This also makes copying and pasting from the browser to multiple fields in an app a no go. I ended up using the browser on my phone to view our whacky server settings while i entered the info into the iPad.

As people start working between apps they will start to feel the pain of having no multitasking. In the meantime I will enjoy the performance benefit.

Ipad

I'm waiting for the 3g Model. There is Church books that are going to make the ipad shine even more. I just wish it would come already. I know im going to be addicted to the ipad when i get it, Just need a car charger for it for long road trips.

Reports say the iPad only has 256MB RAM. Even if 4.0 enables multitasking, good luck using it.
With ProSwitcher on a jailbroken iPhone 3GS (with that much RAM or less) I can multi-task/background 6 apps without a hiccup, probably more that I've yet to try.

And that's with an unofficial jailbroken solution. The iPad will do fine.

256MB is going to be too small for the apps people will want to run on the iPad. Just watch - when iPhone OS 4.0 is released, Apple will offer an iPad with 512MB.
