I just ordered an M2 Pro Mac mini from B&H for 1199 - the 16/512 version. Yes I know the m4's are around the corner, BUT my 2017 iMac just wasn't hacking it anymore and as a working professional I just couldn't wait any longer. It'll be here tomorrow and I'm like a kid at Christmas right now! Can't wait to hook it up with my brand new studio display I got as well!

Do we know the approximate availability date for m4 mac mini?

Just ordered M4 Pro Mac mini with EDU discount.

November 8th ship date for the basic model. Anyone know if one of the TB ports can be used to power the Mini? I have a 100w out monitor and I want the least amount of cable as possible.

How much did they give you for your mini? And what configuration?
$230 for 16GB/256GB. (EDU Website)
$300 for 512GB. (For some reason, Apple Store App thinks my serial number has the 512GB SSD)

With $230, comes out to be $269 after EDU discount. I’ve had mine for 4 years so $269 for a desktop upgrade on a $600 machine is ok with me.

Ordered a Mac Mini M4 Pro 14C/20C, 64GB, 4TB, 10GbE with AppleCare and it'll arrive between 11/20 - 11/27

I’m moving from an iMac Pro, pairing this new Mini with 3 Dell S2722QC Monitors.

I almost did the same. Got the 512gb M4 for $700 edu dis. A $365 trade in, came out to $335 out the door.

Copped, got the base model with 512 GB of storage. First Mac in modern times where I didn't upgrade the RAM. Based on the reactions to the power of the M2 model it didn't seem necessary (I am not at all a Pro user).
Trading in my 2019 MacBook Air which is by far my least favorite Apple computer I've ever owned.

I was going to wait for the reviews, but pulled the trigger. 1TB, the unbinned Pro chip, 64 gigs of ram. And it will be here end of November! Guess these things are very popular, or they don't have a ton of the 64 gigs here.

This is Canadian education pricing. It turns out CA$1394 is only US$969.69, compared to US edu pricing of US$1079, which means the US is actually 11% more expensive.

M4
I only need 16 GB, but got 24 GB.
I only need 512 GB, but got 1 TB. (I'm currently using less than 256, since I have multiple external drives.
I only need Gigabit, and stuck with Gigabit. 10Gb changes the ship date from Nov. 8 to Nov. 18-20.

same here !
i first wanted to see pro vs. max benchmarks. But the Mini-pro P-core count surprised me good enough. I just could not hold back, afraid i might fall into some delivery hole, waiting time added.

have: M2mini-pro, 12 core, 16/1TB
ordered: M4 mini-pro, 14 core, 24/2TB, 10GbE
Audio work PC.

Only the 24GB RAM bothers me. While i should be fine in reality. I´d wanted to have 32GB.
Since i´m not sure if i will have to upgrade to a studio, i really wanted to save me those 400.-.
For most audio work i do i´m even fine with just 16GB so far. so, should be ok.
400.- for the RAM upgrade is ridiculous........and so is the 2TB SSD upgrade.

I wish it ships faster than expected. 12C models ships on day 1 (11/8) but as soon as it is configured with 14C chip, the shipping date slips. :(

Same! I guess that's the price we pay for upgrading to the high-end model - here's hoping it'll ship out a few days earlier!

Canceled my order and re-ordered with 10 GigE. I don't actually need it, but decided to get it anyway, after my internet service provider agreed to provide me a 2.5 Gbps modem at no extra charge (on 1.5 Gbps service). However, I still won't use more than Gigabit anytime soon since my router and switches are currently still Gigabit.

Updated edu order is CA$1506.50, or US$1082.76, which is actually $86 cheaper than the US edu pricing of US$1169.

Everything is an upgrade to what I actually need, but I hope to keep this a very long time.

Memory - Need 16 GB, got 24 GB
Storage - Need 512 GB, got 1 TB
Ethernet - Need 1 Gbps, got 10 Gbps.

PS. My order says 8-10 days shipping, but delivery Nov. 19-21, so 1.5 weeks shipping but 3 weeks delivery.

Why the extra 1.5 weeks? How are they shipping these? I’m in Canada BTW. Also, I wonder from where they will be shipped: China, US, or Canada?
