Custom M4 mini arriving two weeks early! My maxed out mini was slated for After November 27th… but is now arriving on the 14th per Apple text alert. I’m delighted.
My M4 24 GB 512 GB 10 GbE was ordered November 1 and was supposed to arrive November 20-22.

Then that changed to Nov. 19-21, and now it's changed to Nov. 13, with UPS saying Nov. 11. Nice.

Chrome is the web browser we use on our ipads and iPhones.

Your explanation about the photos is exactly what we want. I'm going for a mini, and if I find out it's too complicated to figure out, I'll get rid of it and return to Windows. Thanks for the info.
I use Chrome browser exclusively on my Macs. I also use Windows PCs so it works best for me, and would work fine for you on a Mac.

I received my base M4 Pro yesterday, setup was a breeze and the size of this thing is awesome. I had ordered originally from Apple's website with deliverer yesterday, then UPS got in the way so cancelled the order and placed a new order yesterday from the local Apple store and had it delivered in two hours.

Heh. My Mac mini is finally moving again, but I find it slightly amusing that it has hit three Chinese cities with three different Chinese political systems in just three stops:

M4 Pro (14/20), 48GB RAM, 2TB SSD

Ordered shortly ago. Initial estimated delivery: Nov 25 - Nov 27

I can afford it outright but took advantage of the no (extra) cost financing with Apple Card.

Trading in the base M1 mini for the base M4 mini.
Doing the same. Apple would give me $225 for my M1, currently on eBay for more.
Apple’s offer of $300 for a 512GB SSD mini, I think, seems like an okay recoup after ~3.5 years of use. I originally paid $850 ($1,099 MSRP) for my M1 via the MR Marketplace.

Apple’s trade-in value on MacBooks — currently, up to $875 — Ouch! So, I’ll keep my MBP until it’s truly obsolete, which is what I typically do.

The Mac mini was scanned out of Taoyuan at 5:36 am. I see there is a flight UPS61 that left the Taoyuan gate at exactly 5:36 and took off at 6 am. That means it's on its way to Anchorage Alaska, arriving 9:25 pm local time.

My M4 is on its way, expected to arrive on the 11th according to the tracking page :)

I bought it at the Apple Store last Friday.

Has anyone figured out yet if there’s any real world benefits to upgrading the chip on the M4 pro Mini?

Is it just for bragging rights or does it actually deliver any noticeable performance gains?

I did find someone who tested both versions:

He uses the manual stopwatch method, so a little larger margin of error. However, it should give a decent general idea of difference.

Purchased my M4 Mini yesterday. Let it do updates and install things. I went with the base model - 16GB 256GB M4 and this thing is awesome!

I only have a 1080p monitor so I'm not getting the full resolution I could out of it.

So far, the things I've tried have worked flawlessly. Coding compiles faster, games play better, everything synced just fine. No hiccups so far.

I did have to install 15.1 as it only came with 15.0. Geekbench Scores here: https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/8725091

Loving it so far! Highly recommend. 10/10. It's so small!
Ok, I am looking for my monitor cables ... this is exactly what I needed to hear from people. TY!

Got my M4pro mini on Friday, I've just ordered a base level M4, with a trade in of a M1 2020 mini I got it for $299. I'll be replacing the M1 on my Plex server

It is awesome! ... I'm using screen sharing between my M3 iMac and the new Mac mini ... smooth (I have the dynamic resolution selected) ... looks good. Only using my old 4k HDMI monitor + the Mac mini ... don't have a Thunderbolt monitor.

Interesting, where are you located? My upgraded M4 was from Shen Zhen China.

I knew they were making iPhones in Vietnam but I didn’t know about Macs. Or maybe there is a warehouse depot in Vietnam.
In Reno. It says: Made in Vietnam ... may be it means the box! Hahaha.
