Remember Apple talked about this transition ?
Apple did mention for entire mac line up to go arm, but i think they think this long will take for everybody be on board
So 2 years from now i think it would be a safer bet

Well, let's get to porting!

I'd love to port Thunderbird myself if it already hasn't been done.

I found the Mozilla Firefox project bug and they have a build but a lack of machines to test and work so I'm thinking of ordering a MBP 13 (16) to do testing and debugging and maybe development. I would hope that the machine has enough horsepower and resources for development.
I think lack of machines for developers to test was a reasons the Mac mini was one of the first form factors to get an M1. The DTK was a limited distribution device.

I would prefer a Mini for development and testing but the 17 hour battery life would make it a fantastic machine for general use. The biggest annoyance on my 15 inch MacBook Pros is battery life and this would fix that issue. My options are to build and develop on the AS system or build on my big desktop and test on AS.
