I think it's wiser to ask users not to use adblockers on one's site rather than to block adblock users. If a site's ads are not all over the place and non-intrusive I think most users would whitelist it or at least disable the adblocker while browsing the content. The sites that block adblock users are all about generating incomes from the clicks instead of providing useful and meaningful contents. My $0.02.

german yellow press site bild.de starts blocking you if you use content blocker - the empire strikes back :)

Not that Bild.de is on the list of sites I regularly visit, but Ad Block Multi handles the site just fine. At least with the Anti-Adblock killer -option enabled.

Really liking Ad Block Multi at the moment, great piece of software.

Just tried Ad Block Multi and it's pretty impressive. It's one of my favorites along with Admop. Both of these apps are well made and most importantly the devs behind them are eager to help and very nice to deal with. Lightening fast response time. ABM seems to have a slight edge on user interface and performs slightly better out of the box - a few sites which I've reported to Admop work perfectly from the get go with ABM. Thumbs up!!!

The dev of AdMop sent me an e-mail and beta testing for 2.0 should be starting soon.

Screenshots of beta look good. :)

One way around it is to use google translate (to English) and the contents will show. Open the article of interest in a new tab/window and everything will load.

the problem of wanting too many things in one adblock app (block ads, block trackers, block social, block eu, etc etc) is that the dev will eventually lose control and drop quality!

the dev alone can't keep up with everything...

purify is losing quality in the last updates because of too many new features and new rules that are breaking websites...

I loved Purify when it first came out. Since the last update, It pretty much breaks almost every site for me. I wasted my money buying it unless the developers want to fix the issues. Now I'm looking for a new ad blocker.

For those of you who have used Blacklist, please consider leaving a review on the App Store so new users have an idea of what Blacklist offers.

Ad Blocker Multi works pretty good for me too. Out of the box it seems to not break sites that I go to.
I like AdMop a lot too. While it doesn't work on that bild.de, it blocks Yahoo sponsored ads and works well for all others sites that I go to.

These 2 are my favorite right now.

Hmm, trying out Ad Block Multi now but although it is doing a decent job blocking ads, it doesn't seem to remove their frames, at least from the sites i tend to use to test out new blockers. Should i be bothering to report these or does Ad Block Multi just not support this feature?

Also in the event that i do report site issues, can Ad Block Multi be updated on the fly without having to wait for a new version to be released?

Refine and Purify still seem to do the best job for me.

I agree. These two seem to work well.

With Purify and Silentium, I'm encountering too many blank pages when clicking on links.

AdMop 2.0 is coming to beta soon and is adding whitelisting, plus a couple of other options.

Report them, via ABM's Safari extension.

If he makes a change to his blocklist, you can update via the app.

Thanks, I have done but then it occurred to me I wasn't actually sure whether ABM was trying to remove the empty frames (i mean the frames themselves aren't technically ads, and unless done well it can break the formatting by removing them on some sites).

Good to hear the block lists can be updated separately from the app, that's probably my biggest issue with Purify right now.

You still have to open the ABM app to update the blocklist, but you'll see the update in there and you switch it on. It then compiles the new list. With Purify, you don't see an update.

I think ABM dev is looking to do updates with background refresh in the future.
