I was playing around with a 12.9 earlier along with an Air. Can't say I was bowled over by the look of the thing, but, oh my, the screen and performance were insanely good. Coming from a 9.7 Pro and a 10.5 Pro, my entirely unscientific impression was that the 12.9 was streets ahead. If I had had any use for it, I'd have definitely placed an order with Apple for one without delay.

I just found an offer on Facebook Marketplace for an iPad Pro 11" 64 GB WiFi with a Speck Case. Listed at $650. I offered $550 and it was accepted. Going to meet for the exchange tomorrow. According to the seller it's been in a case since day 1 but I'll inspect for physical defects and also test it out prior to leaving with it. Here's to hoping it's not too good to be true!

EDIT: Picked it up today and it's in perfect condition. Can't believe I got it for $550 including the case. Keep an eye on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace!

I went from the 10.5 (which is/was superb) to a 12.9. Not looked back, fantastic device. I had a gen 1 12.9 previously and it was just too big but the new one is perfect. The 11 was too close to the 10.5 but a new resolution so I didn’t want to deal with apps not fitting correctly and I did miss the larger display but not bulk of the 12.9. My wife was happy too as she got the 10.5 and pencil.

After using the iPhone X and Face ID I longed for an iPad without a button, it annoyed me having to press it on the iPad having become accustomed to using Face ID. Another benefit of the new pro iPads.

Pretty much my experience except that I sold the 10.5 :)

I have had really good UX with my previous iPads; iP3, Air 2 , 10.5 to 11. Naturally 11 is my current favourite until the next latest & greatest :D.

4 months on and still loving every moment with the 11”; Face ID, lightning fast , feather weight , Pencil charging, no home button, etc

I recently sold the 10.5 inch, the buyer preferred it to the new Air; the 4 speakers & ProMotion sealed the deal.
