A year ago it was rumored for 2027.Um if There really is going to be a folding iPhone then where in the world is the folding iPad?
Much less daily battery lifehow will the air be different than the plus?
how will the air be different than the plus?
Sometimes less is more!Same same but will cost more and you'll get less.
I totally get what you mean. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is great, but it feels too heavy. A lighter iPhone Air sounds like a nice change, even if it means giving up a few features. And yes, I’m also really looking forward to the folding iPhone can’t wait to see what Apple does with it!The future folding iPhone is the main course.
Hate the weight of my 16 PM. Only got it because I prefer the larger width of the Plus/Pro Max for typing plus I needed the AOD.
The Air is most likely going to have an inferior battery, camera, and speaker, than my 16 PM. But I am thrilled to ditch all that for a super light device in-hand and in-pocket.
However what I truly want is that folding iPhone, which I do believe will be announced in the fall of 2026. So really the Air is going to be something fun and different to use for a year until the folding iPhone will be announced.
Anyone else feel this way as well?
Actually I like the weight and feel of the 16 pro Max. I have huge hands. Would probably have been the 17 pro max if it wasn’t for all this tariff ********. I don’t trust first gen of anything Apple, especially folding. The 16 pro is a good screen size.I totally get what you mean. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is great, but it feels too heavy. What a surprise! A report by Qualcomm says Qualcomm products are better! My yesterdays posting about apple´s C1 modem chip has been correct, as it seems.... 😁

Android Phones With Qualcomm Modems Top iPhone 16e in New 5G Test

Like I said.. never trust gen 1What a surprise! A report by Qualcomm says Qualcomm products are better!
The C1 may be inferior, there is anecdotal evidence that suggests it may very well be in some situations, but biased reports are biased!
I haven't seen any evidence of the C1 being broken either. There seem to be quite a few people happy with their 16e. Now that I've broken the screen on my 14, and am using a backup 11, I'd take a 16e in a heartbeat!Like I said.. never trust gen 1
Fair enough. There have been 1st gen teething problems before, but I feel Apple does pretty well at them.Never implied it was broken.. just not to the same quality level of someone that’s been making these chips for years. The M1 was honestly a surprise; I didn’t expect it to work as well as it did. That’s kind of a tough call, do you fix the screen or buy a used 14? 15’s are hard to come by because 16’s were kind of a disappointment. That’s why I’m surprised I bought one but the tariffs scared me off waiting for the 17. Do you put screen protectors on them? I have a case, a screen protector and lens protectors.
Subjonas you’re coming across a little bit like an Apple apologist here. Fast refresh screens have been available on £150 Android phones for years. Apple use this standard feature shamelessly as a differentiator between regular £800 and pro £1000 iPhones, we all know they do this on MR.Putting better features in the more expensive model isn’t upselling, that’s just offering different tiers of feature sets and prices. Upselling would be if an Apple salesperson tried to convince you that you need the Promotion when you don’t, in order to try to get you to buy the higher priced tier.
What sense would it make for a company to offer similar feature sets in different price tiers? Of course more people would go for the cheaper model then. That’s not cannibalizing, that’s basically just lowering prices.
So what you’re actually complaining about is either that there is no tier in between the regular and the Pro that offers the exact feature set you want, or that Apple’s prices are too expensive, or both. Either way, no matter how the tiers/features are set up, people will always be in your position where they want a certain feature for less money. So not offering Promotion on the lower tier isn’t devious on Apple’s part. You simply don’t like it.
Thinner + lighter = increased breakability. Who’ll buy a phone for its thinness and then put a case on it?The iPhone Air will be DOA. Too many tradeoffs for very few benefits. The only benefit, in fact, is that it's thinner and lighter. Those don't affect daily usage, though. One less camera, so photos won't be as versatile. Less battery life, so it will be annoying for some people to have to charge before bedtime. Even if the battery lasts a whole day in the beginning, it will degrade and last less than a whole day after 8-12 months.
The only reason they're making this iPhone Air is economies of scale. Many of the components will be used in the iPhone Fold in 1-2 years, so it's better to release the Air now and reduce the price of the components they'll use with the Fold later.
