I agree that the iPhone seems pitiful for many things after having the iPad for a few weeks now. But i also agree that there a many times that the iPhone is more useful - for example for to do lists, texts, photos, videos and also some iPhone-only apps that don't really need the ipads larger screen. But wow what a difference in typing and viewing movies and such - i can't believe I used to do that on the iPhone!

iPhone ALL the time.... iPad some of the time...

.

I have both, but the iPhone trumps all in my book.
You can't carry an iPad around in your pocket. I mean
you could carry around an iPad with you all the time,
but that is contrary to the whole idea to me.

iPhone is such a powerful and useful item. I would much
rather do without an iPad than an iPhone 3GS. But it's
nice to have both.

:)

And iPhone 4G will have even more potency

This is the exact reason why cloud computing will be the future for data storage. There are already a slew of applications that use cloud storage as it's main storage, but often implement it wrong. Sure you have some things like DropBox and MobileMe, but they aren't as user-friendly as they should be.

With iPhone OS 4.0, I hope new APIs will encourage developers to move towards cloud computing. I like the large screen of the iPad, but the convenience of my iPhone. When I change something on my iPad, I want it changed on my iPhone - across all apps.

I agree 100%. I love my ipad but if one had to go it would be the pad. I'm looking forward to the new iphone and for what I do it works just fine.

I do love the ipad for sharing pics and videos better than the iphone but I'm never without my phone but the pad is just too big to have with me all the time. They both have there place but as far as a magical device goes, the iphone has my vote hands down.
