The iPhone Lock Screen is Coming (not lock info)

New lock screen architecture/platform for creating Lock Screen widgets. And it's "cydget", creating by the great "Saurik".
Is what live? Cydget, or the lockscreen as seen in the pics? Yes and no.
Are you jailbroken? A 5 second trip to Cydia could have answered this.
Is apple completely stupid?
HELLO. Smartphone. People would like a summary of all the crap they having going on in their phones and don't want to click each individual app to read stuff. Why on earth haven't they released a lockscreen that has this stuff already is beyond me.
iPhone's lock screen = epic fail compared to ANY smartphone.
Thank God for jailbreak and lockinfo, if/when they ever make jailbreaking not possible they sure as hell better have multitasking and a lockscreen implemented or I'm off to android.

erm, smartphone = way more reason for confidentiality on the home screen, especially if its a work phone, i would want some one picking up my phone only to be greeted by an email from my bank or a private text etc.
Hence I use LockInfo which only shows the subject line and sender.
To read entire messages or get any real info they have to unlock the phone, which is password protected.
Exact point I was trying to make earlier in another post on lockscreen (widgets I think). Display only for lockscreen, and minimal at that. Interact/process behind the secure (pw protected) "wall".
I've been playing a lot with lockinfo lately, and right now I'm pretty happy with my setup. Simple, but informative.

You and me both. I wish there was some movement on this application. I'm liking Cydget so far, it's way more useful than I originally thought it would be.

After some heavy duty digging, it looks like the Lock Screen Cydget is going to be called "Element". It was supposed to be out two weeks ago, but from the looks of everything, the guys who made the original blog post aren't actually making the application. Add to that the fact that it appears Saurik isn't communicating very well with either group and it sounds like this app is a whole lot of vaporware right now.
It's too bad. Saurik is insanely talented at coding, but from my perspective he doesn't have much of a talent for UI or communication with other human beings. Just my two pennies.
this is pretty much what i figured as well. i'm sure i saw a post/blog entry/something by the guys who made the mock up basically saying "we're looking for someone to make it" because all they did was photoshop a concept.
and i agree with ViViDboarder, it's info, not full applications. i use lockinfo also and it shows me email subjects and sender, nothing else. i even edited the SMS bit so that it didn't show me any of the content, just the sender. stuff like this is a way of getting a quick view of what is waiting for you in your unlocked phone.
I need to get to do's on mine...I think that's done by native rendering correct? I'm not sure how to do that because I can never get mine to show up. What does your to do's synch with?
HAHA oddly enough, I just read in the Toronto Sun, the developers friend Jeremy Bell was arrested and released yesterday for having a fake lego gun in Toronto! It was all a funny misunderstanding though, just a funny coincidence to read this thread right after I read the article.

Two, don't you think Saurik would have mentioned if he was in the hospital with a life threatening complication from H1N1?
Saurik hasn't been gone for more than a week...check his Twitter. "Element" is vaporware at this point, and it honestly doesn't look like it's going to be anything more than that for the foreseeable future. In fact, the only mention of Element by Saurik himself is this lone tweet:

You could read the post right above yours. That's Gruppled, but he is now using Gruppled for Native Rendering and using the Native Appigo Todo plugin.
This is easy.
He had some tweets about being sick, said it was H1N1, said he had some lingering issues but nothing specific about having a heart muscle complication.
Could be accurate.
