I posted this on multiple Android forum websites:I can no longer be silent. I was irritated by my iPhone 5s having a small screen and my spouse and I had different service providers so it was time to switch carriers and go on one plan to save money.

Why not try out an Android? Samsungs TouchWiz looks cheap along with their materials. The T-Mobile Representative recommended the Xperia and I loved it. But then reality set in. The very first thing I notice is that the Xperia z1s doesn't notify you during standby mode. It only shows a red or blue dot. Sure I downloaded a notifier app, but it wasn't reliable and it didn't give many details. Then I noticed that this battery is not nearly as good as the iPhone. People love to blame Sony.

But in reality it's the software - Android. Android is a lot like Microsoft Windows. It crashes a lot and is completely unreliable. Will the phone make a sound when I get a text or Facebook message? Maybe, depends on the day.

Why do Americans choose Android over iOS? They are the same price. Samsung S5, Sony Xperia z1s, and the iPhone are all about $700. Google has Americans convinced Android is better because it's" customizable " Why because you can root it? Android is for hackers and computer nerds. Just like Microsoft Windows. The blogs and internet reviewers are nerds too and love their fellow nerds so they give Android phones better reviews than Apple. Why is the Samsung S5 the same price as iPhone? I mean Google pretty much makes their software. And the S5 is made of cheap plastic and a crappy biometric scanner. Really, all Android phones should be decreased in price by half. Apple has to make a quality phone and software that does not crash and is reliable. So what if you can't root it. Android is so buggy because there are so many versions for so many phones.

My Xperia z1s battery started overheating because Android has so many processes going on. It's not because Sony doesn't have enough RAM. And why can't Android users post to multiple Facebook friends? Why is it only on iPhone? Does Apple pay Facebook for the feature? Apple, do not lower your price. I should be punished for my disloyalty. I will only have to pay $135 in September for the iPhone 6 due to T-Mobile Jump program and I didn't pay a cent for the Xperia so now was a perfect time for this important lesson.

The Xperia z1s is actually the most powerful and luxurious phone. Even more than iPhone. But with Android it is worthless. I'm sorry Sony that you have to use Android. Maybe Sony can just make it's own software that can run Android apps? Or just pour millions into a glitch free and reliable Android software version. But I doubt that's possible. I am in disbelief that no Android customers talk about Androids issues. Everyone is in denial. Even Apple people are in a daze. If I were Apple I would do commercials commenting on Androids flaws. And at the end show the old Microsoft Windows ME logo and say, "Remind you of anything?"

Buy what you like. Some like android and some like iOS. Also some will like both, like me. Why does it bother you what other people buy? I don't get you.

Yeah you had me laughing at disloyalty. I can never take you seriously for that dumb statement.

Because Apple gets a bad rap from the Android Community. Apple deserves a larger market share along with the profits from that market share.

Frankly, I'm ok with Apple and iOS not getting big market share. Let people choose what they want, they will learn what is quality and what is not. I'm not saying Apple is perfect, it is not. It's still technology and technology fails from time to time. But I am happy with Apple and all of the operating system platforms. When I have to help my parents with their Note phones it makes me even happier that I have an iPhone...

I put parents, aunts, uncles on iPhone's from the start.

I've forced several into retiring their windows crap boxes in favor of iPad. My hours of headache spent cleaning malware from their machines has tanked in the last 2-3 years. It's great.

This part is funny though. Apple has a fairly high market share in the US. Why target "Americans?"

Why the hell do you care though? It goes both ways you know. Do you expect everyone to like the same things?

I'm not sure if my eyes were crossing because of what you were saying or how you typed it (wall of text).

Regardless there are a lot of reasons people don't like iOS too. Use whatever works best for you.

You can't switch to a competing device, try to use it like what you replaced with it and expect everything to work out. Two different OS's that operate differently. When switching from one to the other you need to approach it with an open mind.

A lot of the fundamentals are the same but thats about it.

If you want to increase Apple's market share, you're more than welcome to buy people iPhones that have anything other than iOS. I'm sure that will help Apple. If not, a rant won't help. People buy for their own reasons. iOS is very good, but doesn't mean it's for everybody. Different strokes for different folks.

I use both Android and iOS daily, each for their advantages, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm positively thrilled that Apples proving they can stop living in procrastination and denial and release an iPhone with a spacious delightful display. Better late than never, I must say they had me wondering if they would cave into common sense and public demand.

Less wall of text please.

From what I scanned, this is your generic "I hopped from iPhone to Android and back to iPhone" thread. Good for you. I hope you have found true happiness. Really. That's why having choices is good.

Buy what you like. It's dumb to care about what other people buy or which product as greater market share.

What are you hoping to accomplish with this thread?

That's what I was left wondering after reading that novel.

Ok OP I think I can sum up this whole thing in a few sentences "Android is ****. Sony shouldn't use android becuase it hurts the phone."

It's true, older people like iPhones.

However since I'm tech support central in my circles I went from: "I could do this on my PC" to "why can't i do this on my iPad/iPhone"? And I know people that do a DFU reload their phones, to make it faster. I'd take a windows box over a Mac OS any day.

Because people want different things. There are thousands upon thousands of Android devices to choose from. Apple gives you two. Customization is only one of many, many things that Androids offer.

And what if I don't want to spend $700 or more on a phone? What if I want to spend no more than, say, $300? It's not like Apple has an abundance of models available at that price point. The only cheap models are yesteryear's waste with so little storage they can barely download the latest OS updates unless you clear out everything from it. With Android I can get something for less than $100. Sure, it won't win any awards, but it works and it can basically do everything that an iPhone does.

Thanks for your post. Ranting is allowed. It is a forum. Paragraphs would have made it easier to read. Perhaps you should have done more research on which Android phone to buy. I switched from an Iphone 5S to a LG G2 and enjoy it. If you are unhappy with your phone get rid of it.

I added white space (as best I could) in the OP to make reading easier and moved it to the correct forum.

Taking off my moderator hat to offer my personal opinion:
I find a lot of the suppositions of Android to be false, My personal experience is that its very stable, and its not just for hackers/nerds. In fact most of the least technical people I know have used and continue to use Android, not because its so rootable but because the phone they wanted was running it.

One size doesn't fit all, and if Android doesn't fit your needs, then move on, life is too short to worked up over a phone.

Sounds like you should have picked up a Moto X.

That would have been a bit better for you, but whatever.
