IMHO I don't think so, iOS is still far more uniform. Also depends on which android your talking about, sense, touchwiz, or stock android. I also think iOS 7 has become less "colorful"

Apple took some of the best aspects of Android and it shows. Thanks to Google and Samsung, they created a lot of great features and benefits for Apple to steal.

It's rather ironic after launching legal assaults on Samsung and anyone who does anything that Apple doesn't like. But that's Apple and sooner or later that landscape will change.

Certainly iOS is adding features that Android already had, but visually I find the two OSs rather distinct. But at least we have someone willing to bring this subject up again for the billionth time.

Google has a MUCH better os, ios 6 looks like it's from the cavemen days: Apple acknowledges that and I'm glad to see them move ios into the present. Just hope there's some innovations on the os side for iphone 5S.

It's the other way around. Do you know how many Android apps try to make your Android phone look like an iPhone? the latest being the control center copycat app that Apple requested Google take down from the Google play store.

The Apple vs. Google, who-stole-what-from-whom debate is always fun.

As I see it, it's as if Apple had invented the car. It sold well, because it worked better than using horses and carriages. Google essentially copied it and came out with their own car. It was kind of clunky at first, didn't always start, and the ride was bumpy. But eventually, they came up with some nice peripheral features: power windows, sun visors, etc., and Apple eventually added those features to its own car.

So who stole what from whom? Arguably, Google stole the whole concept, but then refined it in some useful ways, and Apple stole those refinements. That's how I see it, anyway.

Android icons follow no guidelines. Instead of being uniform and pleasant they look like they were assembled from different platform. I mean look at the mess below. You have round icons, square icons, icons that look like headphones. I mean that's ok for Windows or Mac desktops but in mobile it doesn't look complete.

First thing I do with an Android device is install Nova launcher and change the icon set to Click UI. The stock icons are atrocious.

What specific Android flavor are you talking about? Stock Android and each manufacturer's custom interface look totally different: Touchwiz, Sense, Motoblur, LG etc.

It is like comparing Windows or Mac with Linux (Gnome, KDE, Cinnamon, Mate, Unity, all look different). They use a completely different set of fonts, icons and features.

Just generally.

iOS7 feels more 'Android'.
I can see elements from all of the Android custom interfaces in iOS7.

It's not a good or bad thing, it is what it is. I know some people get offended by the comparison, which I find bizarre.

A lot of people think that every new feature in ios 7 was taken from android, but those features are not exclusive or innovated by android. A lot of these first came from the jailbreak community of ios, but android popularized them and brought them into the mainstream public. So in essence, did they copy some of those features yes, but they were never created by android to begin with anyway.

I have to respectfully disagree with you. I like those icons better. I wish iOS allowed transparency in the icons. Rounded squares look good for some icons, but not for others.

I think there may be some connection:
Apple license Palm's patents
Acquisition of UI patents from Maya-Systems

I don't think any Android OEM does so much licensing and instead take things for granted.

And I don't remember where, but I saw some Apple UI patents back from 2000-2007 that have been only implemented just in iOS 7. So implementing your own innovation that others have come up with later (or secretly stole by studying patent applications *hint*) and implemented before you did counts as stealing?

Android? No they both look like Palm's WebOS. In fact, Android seems to "borrow" more and more from WebOS but there's a very good reason for that - Matias Duarte.

Didn't iOS 7 get multitasking UI from Safari? I thought Safari had cards before WebOS.

Yes and no, depending on who is looking at it. To me, I associated iOS with the skeuomorphic design. The details and the design are what pulled me from android. So in that aspect, I would say iOS7 looks "more" like android, just because it is moving away from what I envision as iOS.

But overall iOS7 has the same layout as iOS, and therefore not looking "more" like android. They have adopted the flat design which microsoft and google have had for a long while now. Maybe because Apple is joining the other major companies that it may seem like they are becoming "more" like the competition.

Im just sad that I have no OS to turn to for the design I like now. Hopefully a jailbreak wont be too far in the future for iOS7 to apply an iOS6 theme. Only time will tell
