You speak the truth, LOL!
An upside down apple magic mouse!Pardon me but wt effff is that?
It would not be needed as you can use a magic keyboard with touch ID.I said in that thread that they might add a fingerprint sensor to the on/off button on the Mini.
One of the worst design choices apple has made - imo, the magic mouse's USB port is underneath the mouse, so to charge it, you have to stop using it, and keep it upside down.Pardon me but wt effff is that?
One thing much more annoying than the port placement on the Magic Mouse is the endless stream of posts complaining about it. It's a minor thing, easily mitigated with one moment's thought over the course of the mouse's many weeks of battery life. What one can't work around, though, is how heavy and awkward the Magic Mouse is, and how surprisingly poor its tracking is.
...not as bad as the inevitable responses defending it on the grounds that its not a problem as long as you remember to charge it every night... (thanks for that revelation - I'm sure nobody had thought of that!)One thing much more annoying than the port placement on the Magic Mouse is the endless stream of posts complaining about it.
Every night? You made that part up. Remember once a month and you're good. Anyone who can't manage that... I suspect they might have bigger issues....not as bad as the inevitable responses defending it on the grounds that its not a problem as long as you remember to charge it every night...
Uh, is that every calendar month or 4 weeks? Perhaps it could automatically set an alert in Calendar "Hey, it's the third Tuesday in the month, remember to charge your mouse!"Every night? You made that part up. Remember once a month and you're good. Anyone who can't manage that... I suspect they might have bigger issues.
If the month is Feb then which is it?Uh, is that every calendar month or 4 weeks?
Not everybody wants one of those things. It would not be needed as you can use a magic keyboard with touch ID.
That's why it is not included. Not everybody wants one of those things.
Dunno about that, and don’t care…… However, despite a few naysayers chiming from time to time since about 2008, it remans almost certain that the new Mac Mini is almost certainly coming.
M5 Mini? Maybe. Possibly Not sure. Here's a few questions to get back on topic.
Do you think the M5 Mac mini will be released this year or will we need to wait until early 2026?
Also, does anyone think the base RAM will stay at 16GB, or will we see an increase to 18, 20, 22 or 24GB RAM? I'm including 18, 20 and 22GB RAM in my question because we've seen weird, non-standard RAM amounts from other Macs in the past, such as the M3 MacBook Pro starting at 18GB RAM if I'm not mistaken.
And last question, what's the best way to get a discounted brand-new M4 Mac mini in Canada once Apple releases their new M5 models?
Have you looked at the Certified Refurbished section of the Canadian Apple Store?Thinking of getting a base M4 mini for light development work, can it handle XCode fairly well? As well as the occasional Pixelmator Pro and Final Cut Pro editing. I haven't used a Mac since ~2020 pre-Apple silicon on my 2017 MBP. I feel like 24GB for an extra $300 CAD is not really worth it.
Bought a dock for it so I'll be fine with using expandable M.2 storage.
A lot of people mount their mini under the desk toward the back, so it's not readily accessible no matter where they put the power buttonYou are correct. Doing this would be one of the stupidest things Apple has ever done. Can you say, "light bar" ?
