Up to i7 6 core
64 GB memory that’s upgradable
1TB ssd

Yea I’ll take one thank you Apple!

Did apple say it was using a desktop class processor rather than a mobile processor?

I thought the Mac Mini segment was intended to compete with the low-end PC market. It's definitely priced out of that market now.

So I guess no discrete graphics, it looks like it uses the Intel UHD 630 integrated graphics.

It was initially and there might be a non-pro version later but this was specifically designed for more power. 10gbit Ethernet, way more capable processor, hardware encoding. It’s a beast. $799 isn’t bad for a machine that will last you until hardware has a generational change.

I dont know a ton about specs and what not, but I am considering buying the mac mini. It seems to me like it would suit my needs just fine. I do a little gaming and mostly web browsing, photo editing and watching videos otherwise.

Will the mac mini be powerful enough to use a Samsung 34" LED Curved QHD FreeSync Thunderbolt 3 Monitor with it? I considered just buying an iMac but I like this monitor much more than I do the iMac monitor.

I just have no idea if the mac mini is powerful enough to use a monitor like that with it. I assume it is but don't know a ton about these. I assume don't buy the base configuration and get more memory and storage. But not sure if the graphics on the mac mini are good enough for this monitor.

This might be a stupid question but I figured i would ask anyways, thanks for any help and advice.

Well, this is going to be an expensive Black Friday, I can't wait until the Apple store reopens so I can see the BTO prices.
[doublepost=1540911671][/doublepost]Any guesses on which processor this is? I'm thinking it might be the Core i3-8300T. 3.2GHz 35W TDP or Core i3-8100, 3.6GHz, 65W TDP, no Hyper-Threading or Turbo-Boost

Maybe Core i7-8700 4.6GHz with Turbo-Boost and Hyper-Threading option at the top end.

Looks good to me. I'll most likely be getting one. Looks like I need to read up on eGPUs. I've got a GTX1070 from my gaming PC that I could possibly use.

It looks like they are using the 8th generation not the latest 9th generation CPU....still better than nothing!
The 9th gen was a coffee lake “refresh” and really didn’t do anything but add two cores to everything so they could hang with AMD core counts. Same manufacturing.

Yes it will handle that monitor zero probles.

still, seems a bit stale of a decision..

There are only 3 9th generation Coffee Lake Refresh "K" processors available and are really geared towards people interested in over-clocking. Intel hasn't released most 9th generation processors yet.

How do you think the top of the line new mini compares to my internal imac specs below overall?
