Is this really real?!?!? Can a bezel that ridiculously large exist in 2015? My god, that would have looked bad in 1985.

I don't think watch necessarily looks bad, but the bezel is quite large, which was for a reason.

Also, the OS looks awesome IMO. It's also pretty cool to see 30fps animations on such a power saving display.

I'm considering one and find it pretty awesome that a company with just over 100 people can figure out that the first person to preorder is the first person to get their watch shipped.

I agree wholeheartedly. People not familiar with E-Ink here will claim it looks so old fashioned, but this is the first time I've ever seen animation on an E-Ink display. Color me impressed with Pebble's engineering here. Most e-ink I've seen looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdEz1dHjN5s

I own a regular Pebble, I find it to be hugely useful when I do wear it.

This version of the Pebble Time Steel looks damn good. But I agree, the OS looks horrific.

I'm not a Pebble promoter, but when I see people talk so badly about it, I decide to post advocating it.

The Bezel on the new Time did surprise me a lot, considering the large bezel on the original Pebble, I thought they would slim it down and make it really sexy. It's a great watch for what it does, but it just can't compete with the Apple Watch it regards of functionality since Apple can interface with all aspects of the iPhone that are locked down to anyone else. This makes the user experience (arguably the most important part of a smart watch) much better than a Pebble.

But, owning an Apple Watch..I miss the Pebble battery life and always on display. I never had to worry about turning my wrist the right way or tapping the screen to just display the time. I wish Apple would have found a way to have an Always on time feature (NOT power reserve), but access the functionality of the watch with that wrist raise/turn or screen tap.

Also, whenever I fall asleep with my watch on etc, I wake up and think SHOOT, I didn't charge my watch. With my Pebble, I never had to worry. I charged when it was convenient for me, not because I absolutely had to.

I'm sure it will raise millions on Kickstarter because the Pebble is Kickstarters golden child. I like the benefits of e-ink, but it needs more advancement.

The OS looks okays, but that hardware looks like something out of the 90's. Pretty horrible.

That bezel is ridiculous.

Looks like some cheap 90's kids toy watch from Casio

Unless this is sub $100 its doomed to insignificance.

Apple watch though I have no interest in it, has style and a touch of class even if its 3 × the cost for a basic model. Yet as something you wear, as an accessory or piece of jewellery I would think looking at the pebble time color - I could easily justify paying more.

Awful. Let's hope for them that was just a prototype.

That interface is AWFUL. It's 2015 and people are still living in 1999 with that interface. I don't care how long the battery life is...it looks bad. And, that bezel...wtf were they thinking.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!

And some people here say the apple watch sport looks like a toy , we'll look at that ^

but seriously I would buy one if there was no apple watch :D , anybody getting the pebble time over the apple watch ?

Actually it is showing you the future, it is what the Apple Watch and maybe the iPhone will end up like, having E-Ink displays. Obviously they have some way to go with the tech but the battery savings on offer are humongous over normal screen tech.

But as for the rest of the Pebble, yeah I get excited when they first hit Kickstarter, I bid my money, then I come to my senses and cancel it haha. They do just look meh..

E-Ink is a dead end tech.

Aluminum batteries and quantum dot screens are the future.

Call me crazy, but I think the new Pebble OS makes more sense than the Apple watch's.

Of course it think just about everything about the Pebble watch makes more sense than the Apple Watch. The only downside for me is that it obviously can't integrate as well with iOS.

PS. People keep saying that the Pebble screen is eInk. It's not actually. Rather it's a high contrast "memory LCD". Not quite as good as eInk in terms of viewing angle, but capable of a higher
refresh rate and not needing to flash every so often to unstick the pixels. (Also eInk can't be backlit, only sidelit)
