I went to bestbuy to have a look at it and the Blade is DQ’d in my eyes by default. It has a flat ribbon cable connecting the display, right in the middle, visible from outside. I have to do some research whether this is easily replaceable or embedded in the screen like on MBP. The connector on the motherboard side (from internet pictures) looks like just a regular flat cable connector, doesn’t look soldered in, but I don’t know how that looks like on the screen side.

Good catch, and I remember seeing one reviewer back in 2018 mentioning how odd it was that they routed the display cable in such a way. I didn't really think about the ribbon cable in of itself but now that flexgate its definitely something to be aware of.

I'm not defending Razer but in the MBP's case, one of the issues is the ribbon cable is wrapped around a daughter card that increases the sharpness of the angle. Using a ribbon cable in of itself maybe fine provided its designed not to flex that much. Personally, like you however I would avoid it all together.

I did some digging, and they introduced this cable with the 2018 vapor chamber (it sits right on top of it too). So it has been in the wild for 9 moths only. The base blade, with heatpipes, has regular through-the-hinge cables. But at $1800 for the base model with 1060 Max-q I think the X1 Extreme is better choice.

The cable is replaceable, normal sockets on both sides. But to replace it you would need a new cable and screen bezel (it will get destroyed while opening the screen), and I couldn't find any of them available for sale. With Apple you can take a chance some lawyer will be happy to organize a class action on contingency basis to force out-of-warranty repair program, with Razer not so much. So hard pass from me.

I am considering this, Is it worth 2350.00?
Here's my take.
First off, I'll put on my moderator hat, and mention that I merged your thread.

Taking off my moderator hat, and putting on my member hat here's my thoughts regarding the Razer.

As many here in the alternatives forum I owned a 15" Razer blade last summer, it was a brief ownership, as I returned it at the end of return period - more on that shortly.

What I loved about the Razer, beautiful design, its absolutely solid feeling, good keyboard, very eye-catching but not in an ostentatious way.
Thermals were decent, though the laptop did tend to run a bit warm but not thermally throttling. Being a gaming laptop, the fans were aggressive, and the battery life on the short side. Performance was excellent, and you can thank the GTX 1060/1070 (now RTX 2060 and up)

Given what you get, I do feel the price is a bit on the high side and depending on what you want to do, there may be other computer makes that could fit the bill.

Why did I return the Razer, at the time, I rolled the dice on the 2018 MBP, which was in one sense a mistake.

What I have now? I'm not much of a gamer but I want get more into it. I opted for the Lenovo Thinkpad X1E, it fits my usage patterns better. As for the Razer, it does have a reputation of poor customer support and quality issues. That is some people have reported problems after a year or two. With the Razer 15" being such a new model it has no track record. I was happy with the fit and finish and was very motivated in looking at getting the RTX version, but the X1E won out.

Thanks fro the feedback, I may go with the MSI GS65 instead.
MR suggests to wait on the MBP now as it is likely to get refreshed soon.

This review is falling over praising the Razer. I really like how much cooler this newer model runs cooler then the version I owned.

Still its very expensive - you're only getting a FHD (at 144Hz though) and 512GB storage for 2,300, where as I got a 4k/1TB and 3 year warranty for 2,200. Thank you Lenovo for your discounts :D

Razer Blade, the ultimate Youtuber pleasing laptop. Youtubers never have to deal with technical support
though in case anything goes wrong.

Every youtuber that gets a device for a review, gets a hand picked device in perfect order. No screen bleeding, noise, chips, etc.

That's normal, if I was a CEO of razer/lenovo/hp/dell/etc., I would do the same. But most of customers aren't aware of that situation.

Just look at Linus when he decided to gift his staff with razers. Her ordered 20-30-40 of them like a regular order. 99% of them failed. And continue to fail. That spooked me about razer completely.
