I think Google will concentrate on having Google phones versions of Samsungs, HTC's, LG's, etc..

if they sell good. If these phones sell only a few thousand units, they will probably stop. I know there were not many to begin with and the fact they did not sell out is probably not good.

It would be awesome if google bought "x" amount of these phones and if after a few months they still have them decide to sell them for cheaper.

From what I've read it says they phones will receive fast updates but it doesn't say from who. I don't think it should take long but when google realeses an update they still have to give it to Sammy and HTC to let them make sure it works for those phones. Now if Sammy and HTC are privilege to early access maybe the updates will come close to the nexus updates. I guess we wil all have to wait and see. Should be interesting.

Agreed. One of the reasons I returned my nexus 4 was for battery life. If they up the price for better battery and camera then that's perfectly fine with me. I also agree on the LCD screen. Why didn't you opt for the HTC?

Was concerned about the low res camera. I am not a low light shooter kind of person and usually take pics of stuff that I might need to zoom in to read details etc and the 4mp would be an issue there.

Or if they are going to offer 8gb, just make sure they add SD card support.

Exactly. I don't give a **** if they sell a phone with tiny internal storage as long as they put the microSD slot back.

Needs the ability to install apps and its data to SD too though. A few albums, some apps and you are approaching 8GB in no time. You'd be screwed just by installing TomTom or CoPilot for example.

True but one thing that really attracts me is the price. Simply put it is the best phone at its price point hands down.

Like the poster above said... Price. At half the price the nexus line Needs to exist. Not everyone wants to spend $600+ on a phone or less but be on a contract.

who knows the upcoming google edition phones will also use the same price point or who knows the upcoming nexus devices will also be about $350?

there's always a chance, hope for the best.

Agreed, they need to bring that feature back. You can still get it in custom ROMs but it should be built into the OS.

It depends on how google is set to focus on Moto X too. With the rumours of that being near stock as possible also - it might be a case that there is no longer the need for 'nexus' as a brand.

With Google Editions of flagships and Motorola offering near stock like experience with some (limited) customisability going forward do we really need a nexus device.

Arguably the nexus 4 with its paltry 8GB storage and lack of LTE was a bit of a backwards step going from the 16GB Galaxy Nexus, do folks want another cheaper albeit limited device, if motorola can fill the niche with the Moto X offering a cheaper version for same price range as existing nexus models - then Google doesn't really need to go down the nexus line anymore.

It's interesting and perhaps telling to see that Google opted to brand the HTC One & S4 as 'Google Editions' rather than Nexus devices too.

We will see.... but I would not be surprised if we wont have another nexus, especially as there has been a genuine lack of rumor concerning a replacement.

The Nexus 4 did have 16GB, but didnt have sdcard slot -.-

But after Google announced GED devices they were bombarded with hopeful fans asking if Nexus would continue (Nexus is a brand people know and love, and sorta hipster :p ) And Google said that they have no plans on discontinuing the Nexus Brand, but they also said something along those lines like, these phones are the phones we will support, beyond all else, paraphrased of course, regarding some Moto devices, and then HTC Nexus One came out!!!

Also Google said that Motorola (as they are Google, now) will not get special treatment and that they will be a completely separate group, part of Google, but, not?

Plus the Moto X, yes it has new tech like the clear pixel, etc, it is only a mid-range phone, that has been basically confirmed. However, I am hopeful that Motorola will bring out a top-range X.

Nexus will live on, and it would not be the next "Nexus 4", but Nexus 5, or something, maybe Nexus One again, with that "One" craze going around (Xbox One, HTC ONE). But I also believe Nexus 5 will be a Motorola phone, either them or HTC.

And this is bound to be a discontinue, seeings as it is only 3 months until Nexus 5, but I just thought they would make it later, maybe to clear out stock of stores, by the announcement of Nexus 5, or to be the good guy, as many people, who are not in touch with the release cycle, may buy an N4 soon before N5 launch. Maybe the UK seller didn't want to stock them anymore, not enough sales, and I would think N4W wouldn't get many sales either, so many it is that.
