Looks like the industry trends are too powerful to go against. Looks like the Nexus this year will be Samsung's version of the iPhone (insertnumberhere)S. We all figure the iPhone 5 will go dual-core just like the Galaxy S3 did, and the Nexus is doing the same, all for that powerhungry LTE radio.

Doesn't look like the specs will be worth upgrading for, unless you really hate the camera, are dying to play dem vidyagames faster, and can't live without an SD slot. I probably won't be buying a new phone until 2013 from the looks of it.

Personally i think that would be great for the next Nexus. They gave it a better camera, a better front camera, the MicroSD slot was never included in a Nexus before and it got a faster processor. I also like it has the 4.65" screen. Will be a bit smaller overall than the GS3 which to me isnt a bad thing.

The Nexus was never given the best specs or the best camera so i like what im seeing. Dont see how it is "less" of a GS3? It will get the onscreen buttons too which i like. Give it some LED notification and i like. I look forward to it coming out but im skeptical if that is what will actually be coming out.

1. It feels less plasticky despite also being made of plastic. A hard shell reinforced by a metal frame inside instead of the plastic turtle shell on the GS3
2. The on-screen buttons will never wear out on you
3. You actually have some space to place your fingers on the Nexus, while you pretty much have to hold the GS3 by the sides to avoid pressing the capacitive buttons
4. The shape of the Galaxy Nexus feels nice in your hand and on your face, while the GS3 feels awkward to hold and has no curve to the screen.

Micro SD would be a huge plus. I hope it's true. It's the main reason I didn't consider the nexus when I jumped ship to Android.

I store many videos, pictures and music in my phone so I really need more than 16GB. Outside the US the 32GB was never seen.

Well i wont disagree too much. I dont feel i need to hold my GS3 a certain way to avoid hitting the capacitive buttons. That isnt an issue for me., but i do prefer a capacitive home button.

I think id actually welcome a tad bit smaller overall phone though even if im ok with the GS3 the way it is.

I know it sounds insane, but obviously, a phone should be designed to be comfortable to rest on your face and the curved design feels more natural to me than holding a flat piece of glass to my face. I think Apple's current obsession with curved glass will result in a curved iPhone someday as well.

Lots of user complaint were about battery.

Pretty sure that was with the first ICS release - it was a software problem which is no longer present.

Edit: unless you are talking about the LTE version and pretty much all LTE devices suffer the same problem and/or need to make sacrifices in other areas of hardware to compensate.

Um, I do believe the curved glass they speak of are just where the glass meets the edges. The phone profile itself is not curved.

Whilst I do respect your general knowledge Ixodes, I have to disagree with you here.

I have done a fair bit of research on this matter and the ONLY indication I have found of curvature on the screen relates to it's edges. Here is one example of a screen protector company relating this info:

Thank you for your pre-order for the Galaxy S III. We are unable to offer the HD ScreenGuardz that you have ordered for the Galaxy S III, due the curved outer edge of the device. We only would have been able to cover the flat surface of the screen and it did not look good on the screen, so we decided not to offer this protector for Galaxy S III. Yep, both the Nexus S and the GNex have a slight curved screen.

There's also another big problem with the nexus, which was a reason I didn't buy it too: the screen brightness.

Don't remember how many nits it has, but it's a lot less than the SGS3 screen, so it's an even darker screen. I hope the next nexus has a IPS bright display, like the one on the HOX.
