Why would anyone buy a phone with a display so big?
Apple's 3.5" is already pushing the limits.

Looks like the industry trends are too powerful to go against. Looks like the Nexus this year will be Samsung's version of the iPhone (insertnumberhere)S. We all figure the iPhone 5 will go dual-core just like the Galaxy S3 did, and the Nexus is doing the same, all for that powerhungry LTE radio.
Doesn't look like the specs will be worth upgrading for, unless you really hate the camera, are dying to play dem vidyagames faster, and can't live without an SD slot. I probably won't be buying a new phone until 2013 from the looks of it.
The GS3's design is quite horrible to me. I prefer the Galaxy Nexus' design because:Personally i think that would be great for the next Nexus. They gave it a better camera, a better front camera, the MicroSD slot was never included in a Nexus before and it got a faster processor. I also like it has the 4.65" screen. Will be a bit smaller overall than the GS3 which to me isnt a bad thing.
The GS3's design is quite horrible to me. I prefer the Galaxy Nexus' design because:
- It feels less plasticky despite also being made of plastic. A hard shell reinforced by a metal frame inside instead of the plastic turtle shell on the GS3
- The on-screen buttons will never wear out on you
- You actually have some space to place your fingers on the Nexus, while you pretty much have to hold the GS3 by the sides to avoid pressing the capacitive buttons
- The shape of the Galaxy Nexus feels nice in your hand and on your face, while the GS3 feels awkward to hold and has curve to the screen.
Was that really necessary?
I know it sounds insane, but obviously, a phone should be designed to be comfortable to rest on your face and the curved design feels more natural to me than holding a flat piece of glass to my face. I think Apple's current obsession with curved glass will result in a curved iPhone someday as well.LOL, never seen anyone say a phone felt good on their face before either .
Lots of user complaint were about battery.
Oops I'm busted
Heck, why not have a little humor.
Seriously? The plastic body is not ideal, but the design is pretty nice.

The phone profile itself is not curved.
Actually it _is_ curved, it's just that it's very slight and not noticeable unless you have it in hand.
The ergonomics of the Nexus make it particularly comfortable and secure to hold and to use.
I must have defective vision. Or perhaps my manual dexterity is faulty, or.... could it be I have the only Nexus that's curved?Whilst I do respect your general knowledge Ixodes, I have to disagree with you here.
I have done a fair bit of research on this matter and the ONLY indication I have found of curvature on the screen relates to it's edges. Here is one example of a screen protector company relating this info:
Thank you for your pre-order for the Galaxy S III. We are unable to offer the HD ScreenGuardz that you have ordered for the Galaxy S III, due the curved outer edge of the device. We only would have been able to cover the flat surface of the screen and it did not look good on the screen, so we decided not to offer this protector for Galaxy S III. We are offering the UltraTough ScreenGuardz for the Galaxy S III. Here is a link to the product page for this device:
With that and several other sites I have searched (simply because I wanted to know wtf they were talking about regarding curved glass) there is no solid indication that the actual surface of the phone is curved other than the edges.
I can understand where the perception of the actual surface having a curve comes in due to the way that the back of the device is shaped, tapered on top and bottom sides.

Oh well, it's only a phone. And at the rate I buy and sell them, it won't be long before it's gone
Sorry, I meant that the GS3 is NOT curved and the Nexus is curved. Not too sure about the Nexus tbh, I was referring to the GS3 that the other poster was complaining about how the curved glass was awkward. When in fact the glass itself is not curved, only the edges are. Maybe the Nexus IS the bananaphone!!
