I predict that it will start at $1800, but that the configuration that most people will want will be more like $2300. Only time will tell (a little over 12 hours from now) :)

so its going to be smaller ad more compact than the macbook, yet cost more? is this replacing the macbook or just another option for apples line of notebooks?

I'll be somewhat mad if it hovers near the MacBook prices ($1,299-1,499) but then again what are the chances you can upgrade a MacBook Air?

i dont know anything about processor speeds, memory kind, how much space everything takes up, or the cost of any of those specific things, but if this laptop is supposed to be smaller (well, thinner anyways) than the MacBook, then it better be at LEAST the same price as the macbook ($1499 only would be acceptable)even with everything you get with an apple product, their laptops are unbelievably expensive. i am saving for a macbook, and i could care less about processor speed, hdd or ssd, or anything else, all i want is the black for $1099!!!!! is it so hard to make the same laptop a different color since they already make it? so basically, im paying an extra $400 just for a different color. which i think is ridiculous. now back to the macbook air (lol) i really hope they dont make it more than $1499 or else i wont have enough money till my birthday! (which isnt till june =[)

I'm confused about this as well aye...I hope it doesn't replace the Macbook. If rumors are true then it's going to be slower and it'll lose a lot of features just for portability.

im assuming most of you already own a macbook or pro with a fairly good processor, would u actually be willing to buy the new air if it were priced around the $2,000?
I must say, this isnt a financial restriction on me (just quietly), but i dont need to replace my macbook. It is great and does everything plus more that i want.

The fact that everyone seems to believe the Air product is going to be a laptop. Even if it is, there's no way it would replace the MBP.

It's a bit funny that you launch a price speculation for a speculated product ...
My speculation is that a lot of people will find it way too expensive but that they will buy it before the first price drop.

this does all depend on size id its flashed based or not if it has any multi touch elements.

could be from like £700 ($1400) to like £1200-1300($2500) depending on whether its consumer orientated or part of there pro line.

I understand that you will pay a slight premium for the small form factor, but I also expect to save considerably as the specs will likely be pretty low (say a dual core LV 1.2Ghz CPU, shared graphics). I'd be happy if it were priced around the same as the MacBooks.

it will have a Mobile Penryn 2.2 dual AT LEAST, i think.
