I since have bought a second iPad, I never thought I had the yellowing till I bought the second Ipad for my kid. Sending the first one back as the second has a much nicer and clearer screen.

Had it one week now and this little device continues to amaze and excite me. I hate to be too dramatic, but the iPad has completely changed how I use computers. The immediacy of keeping it by my side, picking it up, turning it on and browsing the web, reading email, watching videos, listening to music, updating spreadsheets and documents and doing many other things all within 1-2 seconds of picking it up is simply amazing. And then doing that all day long without being tethered to a power cord. I would hate to go back to life before iPad, it is that great. And gaining multi-tasking this Fall will make it all that much better.

Apple is a fantastic company and the iPad is a fantastic computer. You can now officially put me in the fanboy (even though I'm 59 years old) category.

I Love my iPad and do not plan on parting with it--))) It's a lot easier to lug around then my macbook.

What I Love:

The Screen is simply awesome and crisp!

Battery Life is Sweet!

Netflix and ABC Video Apps - Guess I should list this under My favorite apps.

The iBook Ebook Reader that shows actual page numbers instead of location numbers like the Kindle.

The design of the device.

Wi-Fi works Great on my Belkin pre-N router.

My wishes are:

PRINT via Wi-Fi to my Brother Wireless Laser Jet

Brightness control from "WITHIN ANY" App.

Easier to use Voice Over especially when just wanting to have my ebooks read aloud. I found this way too cumbersome.

Longer cord for the 10 watt Pwr Adapter

Apple should include the cleaning cloth that comes with their other devices.

Lower App Prices and more iPad specific universal Apps. I know that will come with time. Same with more ebooks for the iBook store.

Ability to select a larger system wide font. Zoom doesn't cut it for me. Have a hard time reading the dictionary from within iBooks app.

More availability of accessories like combination stands/cases.

Overall on a scale of 1 to 10 I rate the iPad a keeper at 9.5 ;)

Yes but since everybody received their iPads at different times last Saturday, its only fair to let the whole day pass, to make sure everyone who got a late delivery, had trouble setting it up, etc. etc., reach that full week before we officially call it a week. Its just common sense with some manners thrown together. Tomorrow is the one week anniversary.

Seriously dude? Lame.

Anyways I love mine. Sometimes the navigation is a little annoying, but that is about it. Well worth the money!

Picked up the 64gb version on launch day and have been using it nonstop since I bought it. Hands down the best battery from apple. Destroys my phone and laptop.

Can't stand the case...would take it back but the case will come in handy for watching a movie on the plane.

Still up in the air about the keyboard. Typing this post with it but the few times ive had to type a document for work, I've used the Bluetooth keyboard instead. Mostly because pages sucks and in landscape mode the tool bar disappears.

Ripped some blu ray movies and converted them to 720p for appletv. These synced just fine to iPad and look amazing. Loads up soft subtitles and multiple audio tracks (directors commentary) just fine. Also using subler the videos will have jpegs for the chapters. Movies are better tagged with more options than how they come through iTunes.

I really with the marvel comics app would let me do subscriptions like marvel.com because I feel like paying $2 per issue is just too much. I want to devour arcs like I do with trade paperbacks and so far there isn't a good solution.

BTW, steve jobs hates contractions. The apostrophe key not being on the main "page" of the virtual keyboard is driving me nuts.

My laptop hasn't been on since I bought it. Sad as it is to say, the laptop may never get turned on again unless i travel as most hotels only offer wired Internet and not wireless. Going to make me mad to bring both devices though.

Speaking of multiple devices, I'm trying really hard to use it as an ereader - both with ibooks and the kindle app. Not really feeling either one. Maybe just go back to my kindle as its lighter but most importantly because it doesn't do anything else!! Everytime I try to read a book on the iPad i end up doing 8 billion other things. Oh well.

I wish safari pages didn't reload and we had real tabbed browsing

That would be nice, but I would even be happy if there was an "open under" option. So when I opened in a new window it didn't immediately switch to the new window. Sometimes I want to just open up 5 windows (like when reading a forum) and then go and tab though them one at a time.

This is truly an amazingly great product.
iPad plus iPhone with MyWi is unbelievably awesome. I'm typing this up on a train right now.

So far, i'm loving every moment with it. I type all my school notes and assignments on pages and surf the web for any notes that i need. I love the apps for it and im getting addicted downloading free books from the kindle and iBooks apps.

I wish there was a tab key for the keyboard.

Brilliant device! Love it! I still use and love my MacBook, but for relaxing and enjoying apps the iPad is an absolute winner. Lightening fast, snappy at everything, screen size is perfect. Typing is way better than an iPhone, but not as fast as a MacBook. iPad is a real keeper for it's fun interface and ability to enjoy computing. I like that cause I am a systems administrator and when I am on my iPad it is pure fun and pleasure and allows me to keep work computing and pleasure totally distinct which for me makes this device worth every last penny! I would buy it again without a second thought....If you are on the fence and can understand why the iPad exists (not to replace a laptop) but to enhance the enjoyment side of computing, then you owe yourself a try with an iPad! It is a true game changer. Here are just a few ways I am using mine:
Read a newspaper,magazine
Pandora
Watch live Masters tournament
YouTube quick and easy
Netflix
Videos
Photos
Games
Fun and unique app discovery
Read a classic book
Read a bestseller or that book you keep putting off
Fast mail access
Fast web browsiing
Quick info retrieval on anything under the sun
Stock watch
Weather updates
Marvel comics
Sports updates

BTW, steve jobs hates contractions. The apostrophe key not being on the main "page" of the virtual keyboard is driving me nuts.

hahaha, this is probably my second biggest complaint. I've made so many errors with typing by hitting the spot where I believe the ' is supposed to be. It auto corrects me most of the time, but I'm not accustomed to that, so I still make errors. My first biggest complaint is the finger prints, but that's more so a personal preference. I'm constantly wiping them away.

Other than that, I think it's a great device! It's fast, easy to use, easy to carry. The only other negative I can think of is the lack of accessories at the moment, but that'll change. Oh, and perhaps app prices, some are a bit high, but I'm sure that'll change as well.

I bought my 32 gig at 2:02 pm CST, got it home, un-boxed, synced and starting playing with it at 2:40 pm, it is now 2:42 pm, so officially for me it has been One Full Week, so here are my thoughts - I love, love it, love it!

I still love it but after the novelty has worn off there are some things I hate.

Can't upload or download attachments in Safari, Lack of ram means web pages have to reload everytime you click the back button or tab out to another page basically web pages constantly reloading.

Youtube often seems to go into slowmo or fastforward for no apparent reason and then takes impossibly long to finish loading the videos but the same ones work fine on my desktop.

Cant watch videos on many of my favorite websites due to lack of flash, this is especially annoying when someone posts a link in a forum your reading and you have no idea what everyone is talking about because you can't watch the video.

App and Book prices, some are reasonable, many are ridiculous going from 2.99 on iphone to 12.99 on the ipad with only a resolution bump and nothing else changed in the app. Some books I wanted to buy are 27.99 on iBooks for iPad yet are only 5.99 on Amazon for Kindle.

Can't multitask until fall...it is really really archaeic not having multitasking on the device at launch in this day and age.

Can't delete photos on the device.

The good stuff, Netflix/ABC streaming are really cool and work great over 3g.

Browsing and email with a giant touch screen are awesome.

Some of the games are really fun to play on the bigger screen RTS games actually playable now with the screen real estate and racing games are amazing on the device.

Portability of the device is great, I don't need my netbook with me as much anymore. Ipad is the greatest toilet entertainment ever created.

Typing works really well with the on screen keyboard.

I've found myself using it more and more as my default consumption machine... no more sitting at my desk, no more slouching over a laptop... I'm happy :)

(of course I still edit photos, etc on those machines...)

My first week

Awesome:
speed
Portability
Pages
Sketchbook pro
Wolfram alpha
Battery life
Display
Best browsing experience
Netflix

Not so awesome:
Safari reloads way too much, no tabbed browsing
No way to scroll down to bottom of page quickly
Short power cable
No support for most video filetypes so you are stuck with YouTube and netflix

Some wifi issues

My Mac Pro is off most of the time now, which is what the purchase of the iPad was intended to do :D

My biggest frustrations, more than likely non-coincidentally, are the aspects of day to day tasks that still require me to use a 'real computer.' Email attachments, various websites (mostly non-flash yet still don't display correctly), and of course the biggest one- PRINTING. I can understand Apple not wanting this relatively cheap device to cannibalize their more profitable hardware.

Naturally there are a handful of early adopter related issues such as a few crashes and bugs both in and out of apps. Most of us knew what we were getting into buying so early and I've gotta hand it to them- this feels much more solid and polished than history has taught us a product that's been out for a week should.

There's the big WTF omission of music cover flow. I've tried to make sense of this every which way. For a while I was on a witch hunt- thinking this was because the artwork bundled with iTunes songs was of such a low resolution it would look bad blown up from smaller devices. I'm not proud to admit it took an hour or so before I remembered that the 24" iMac runs cover flow. They left it out. I may never understand it. Maybe we'll get it someday.

All the astonishing elements of convenience, innovation, overall functionality, and just general "holy crap!" moments seem to outweigh these things well into the honeymoon period. I considered returning it and re-buying at the point there was a good solution to these issues but at the end of the day, the iPad is how I want to do things. I just hope I'm able to do more things before Fall.

I've had my iPad a full week, and I'm still not sure whether it's a keeper for me. Love the interface, great hardware, and some of the iPad-specific applications show great promise.

However, I bought this device believing that for my use at least web browsing would be the "killer app." Unfortunately, I've been very disappointed with the web browsing experience. Slow page loads, slow rendering of complex pages, crashes to the home screen, no tabbed browsing, and the absolutely infuriating reloading of pages when you open up more than two pages or click away from Safari.

The device will obviously only get better with the release of iPhone OS 4 in the Fall, but with no mention of web browser improvements in the upcoming OS upgrade I fear my primary complaint may not get improved until the second generation device.

I absolutely love my iPad.

I got the both the original iphone and the iPad on launch day. My satisfaction after the 1st week with the iPad has been better than with the iPhone. That may be because of the innumerable apps that complement the basic iPad functionality; but still, iPad is one damn good device.

It should be great to see what iPad would do in 5-10 years from now.

Seriously dude? Lame.

No not seriously!!! You could tell I was joking cause in post 19 I wrote I WAS JOKING!!! Jesus doesn't anyone on these threads have a sense of humor anymore? Lame back atcha and times a million, poopface!
