EPA1 imagine how much you can rub it in if every product you have mentioned (yes, including the ring) gets released...

I'm sure I've seen a similar pic of an iMac with a slot on the side and tablet thing half out before, is it an old concept that never came to fruit? Where would I have seen it before? Here somewhere maybe?

It's an Apple Patent.

Here's a Gizmodo mock up:

@sky blue

That's it, thank you, I knew I had seen it somewhere before. How old is the patent, do you know? Likelyhood of becoming real?

OK, considering I have never seen that photo that Sky just posted, that is pretty close to the idea. Can I get a little slack? It's patented at least.

Thanks Sky:apple:

The other device is call the iRing, which apprently is used to control your Bluetooth devices with a ring that you wear on your finger. I know it sounds far fetched, but it's out there. Apparently is used to answer calls and control your music. Again, I will attach an image. I really don't know anymore on that product.

The iRing was a contest entry in the latest issue of Mac|Life magazine, it couldn't be further from an actual product. The name of the article was "Readers reinvent Apple":

Fasting is bad for your health.

No its not. In fact, done correctly and for an appropriate amount of time fasting has many health benefits.
Not to mention it gives your system a break from all that junk food u guys eat. :p

And.........*sigh*... the iRing pic was ripped off from maclife.com's apple prototype design contest. You guys call yourselves macfanboys? Why didn't you people immediately recognize the iRing as being from Maclife then?
The iRing was supposed to be a design concept for a remote control device for various other apple devices.
You guys are all mac noobs I sware!

Oh for christ sake give up. I think its clear you are just a troll trying to look cool based on rumors that have been out there for months. For once I'd like one period right before a mac convention where the noobs don't try this crap.

who the hell would buy an iRing, it would look just a tad stupid walking down the street with your finger up next to your ear and talking to it, like wtf?

I'm guessing that you don't know more than the first thing about bluetooth...

you do know that it's not JUST for headsets, right? It's a generic wireless technology for short area personal networks... you know that, right? File sharing, general purpose networking of devices, etc.

You _DO_ know that, right? Because, assuming that it would be something you'd hold up to your ear and talk to ... just makes YOU look stupid.

I would totally love a Mac Tablet, but an iRing? No.

Me too.

A Mac MID/UMPC? yes. yes yes YES! (posted my thoughts about it in the iPod-Touch forum)

An iRing? Seems like a useless concept. Bluetooth is totally peer-to-peer, so it has no need of a hub/controller (comparable to a wifi access point/base station). So you don't need something to bring all of your bluetooth devices together and control them.
