I was not aware that Direct 3d games were not supported in parallels... this has just saved me lots of time! lol I saw that someone had FFXI installed, but it was via BootCamp. Since BootCamp didn't work for me (Got the infamous "unable to move files" message) and I really don't want to reinstall OS X, Parallels was my only option. But now I may have to :(

Try VMWare Fusion for DX8.1 games. Also try removing a few files and trying bootcamp again.

There is a way to do an image copy of your install onto another hard drive and then re flash this image back to your original drive. This will leave your install intact but move it to the start of the drive so you can use bootcamp.

I had a Windows error. Had to get rid of bootcamp. I can reinstall it with no problems but I tried Parallels and loved it. So I bought it. I forgot a huge problem, I play Flight Simulator X all the time. I have yet to install it. Does FSX work with Parallels? Anyone! Thanks ~ j.d.

Has anyone gotten Soldat working? I try installing it, and I can get it going, but once I get a server started, the screen is black, it's running, I can fire and all, but can't see anything.

Ffxi

Was wondering if FFXI will work in any emulator on a mac or if you have to use boot camp. If you have to use boot camp can you run it off a Firewire external Drive?

Actually in Parallels 4.0 I was able to get it to run just fine at 1680x935 at 2048x2048 resolution in San d'Oria 20~25 fps. I am sure it will have to be adjusted for Whitegate and Dynamis but I will have to see that tomorrow and Tuesday respectively.
