While I would love a larger iPad pro, I wouldn't want to give up an 11in pro, unless apple makes a 9in iPad mini pro.
I like having the 3 sizes, but sometimes I use the 11" instead of the mini simply because of some pro features missing on the mini, like quad speakers (if the mini had it I would have taken the mini) or even just more RAM.
So I like the fact that we have a very compact pro and I wouldn't be agaist an even smaller one, but I talk as someone who doesn't need to compromise by chosing one size since I'll get all the sizes anyway...
I assume because of the quad speakers? Because otherwise I think the Air is just as capable (they do need to up the base storage though to 128GB) and I believe I read in some of your previous posts that mini Led or OLED is not a selling point for you.

yes absolutely, I don't care about mini led, it only matters to me when watching in the dark, which is not good for the eyes anyway...so I rarely do
Quad speakers is by far the main argument for the pro for me. Regular speakers can be ok is some situations but are not when there is some noise around (washing dishes, washing machine, water while shaving, or simply when the source audio is low to begin with). Promotion is not a strong argument, but it's nice to have it to avoid blurry texts when scrolling while reading.
I happily pay the $200 difference even just for the speakers, but getting the other perks included (double the storage, promotion, little bit more screen, probably longer support due to newer chip) is a nice bonus

Around the house or laying on the couch or in bed, the 11” iPad Pro is perfect for media consumption IMHO. But when I am on the road, I always travel light, and find the iPad mini the perfect size for media consumption.

I enjoy my mini a lot for media consumption. If I want it any larger I stream it to my Apple TV.

Edit: Just read you would find the mini too small. If I’d do more typing I’d have Bluetooth keyboard and Magic Trackpad accompany it. But for my basic typing needs it’s plenty. Saying that, I did create a multi page guide with photos, etc very comfortably, even without said peripherals.

11 inch and 12.9 iPads Pros compliment each other perfectly. The perfect setup is owning both iPads Pros and an iPad Mini for when you're mainly reading and need that delightful pain-free gripping experience.
I have a 12.9” and a Mini that both get a lot of usage, but I’m not sure where an additional 11” could fit in. What kind of situations would it be significantly better than both the other two? The only thing I can think of is when I really need a smaller size than the 12.9” but more power than the Mini, which is pretty rare for me if ever. I do wish the Mini had less refreshes—hopefully that will be remedied in the future. But purely considering size, that in between size in addition to big and small seems very specific, too specific for me. But everyone has different needs, just curious how it works for you if you have that setup. If you do, do they all get a lot of use? If not, how do you imagine it?

Agreed. I have never felt as though I need more display real estate when watching series, films and YouTube on my 11” iPad Pro, TBH.
It has the perfect screen aspect ratio for content consumption.
For YouTube and other media consumption the Mini 6 is more then enough, and if i feel like watching on bigger screen i’ll stream to my tv.

I see another desperate application for Apple’s marketing department incoming. But you’re preaching to the choir. We of course own everything twice!

My old 10.5" iPad Pro was a fantastic size (and weight); my 12.9" iPad Pro is still very good, but less convenient the way the 10.5" model was.

Personally I would like that apple increases the sizes of the pro models with 1 inch.
A 12” iPad Pro would probably be a very good sweet spot for what I do

i love my 12.9” pro but on a flight for example it can be a bit too big and it’s quite heavy.
maybe something like

8.3 mini
10.9 base model

11 inch air
12 inch pro
13 inch air
14 inch Pro
This would be an awesome lineup. A 12” pro would be the ideal size for me - I find the 12.9 to be a bit unwieldy while the 11 is a bit cramped.

I have both the 11 inch iPad Pro and iPad mini 6 between the two if portability isn’t an issue then I prefer the 11 inch iPad Pro for watching media. I’ve never really wanted a bigger display. I’ve never owned a 12.9 inch iPad Pro before because I think it would be too big and I also have the 13 inch MBA so there would be an overlap. However, although I have a MBA I never use it for watching media, I just find it too large and not as good an experience as my 11 inch pro. So I think I can rule out the 12.9 pro as being a better experience.

So in a nutshell the 11 inch pro is the perfect size for me.

Nice analysis. I agree with this.
