Just as an aside to this , I think I've finally found something that's aged less gracefully than I have ...

Taken around noon today . I've known about this vessel for about 15 years , maybe a bit more . Every time I'm out in The Bay Area I go out to check it out ( and to try to see the Tule Elk in @Clix Pix 's video reference . ) When I first saw it , it was pretty intact , but has gone down quite a bit in the last 5-7 years since I've been out there .
Looks like it has rocked a bit since I was there, leaning more to the left. Cabin leaning quite a bit at the stern end, ready to collapse. My photo was taken Feb 15, 2016.

The whole stern section is gone . Looks like someone tried to torch it but didn't succeed save for taking out the left rear quarter . The rest is apparently buried . But the engine and prop shaft are still in there . Can't see any of this from the deli. parking lot , though .

I started to look into this boat a bit more, lots of pictures and info on line, quite famous actually. Don't know how much longer it will be recognizable. Photographers saved it from being destroyed/removed. 2016 Picture from local paper, Point Reyes Light:

Amateur photographer started fire for an Instagram photo.

The "shipwreck" is the Point Reyes, an old fishing boat that was purchased by a resident of Inverness who intended to repair the vessel. The new owner intentionally beached the boat on the Tomales Bay side of what is now the Dixon Marine Services, Inc. building in "downtown" Inverness. While the boat is on NPS land, one must cross private property to best view it. As of May 2016, the Inverness Store allows the public to view the boat from the east end of its parking lot.

In the small town of Cawker City, Kansas, you can find the world’s largest ball of twine (though apparently a few towns claim this honor). It sits under a shelter out in the open. From what I gather, it is treated regularly with fire retardant material. I’ll give you one guess why…

Sometimes “entitled stupid idiots” just doesn’t cover it. I have noticed the selfie thing more of late. People - typically early 20s stopping in the street to take a selfie with their Pumpkin Spice Latte or bubble tea or whatever it is they have now.

Ah, harken the old days of putting hand prints in wet cement.

Although this is a promo produced for and by Nikon, it really applies much more universally to photography in general regardless of any particular brand...... A video well worth watching!

makes me think of Peter McKinnon‘s Canon promo
