Why does this one remind me of a refrigerator?

heheh. someone might as well just build a computer into a refrigerator that cools not only your computer but some drinks as well (i'm sure it's been done). i always liked the one that had a coffee maker built in. i definitely enjoy the idea of a PC mod with random kitchen appliance built in. i mean if computers are getting so hot, might as well use that heat to make some toast. or make smoothies. or something.

I hate these stupid Compaq Presario's! We have one that has always been a POS!!! But aren't all PC's like that? :D

There is a dell worse than that picture, the dells at my school. On most of them the round dell logos are broken off and stolen and the front doors are busted off, one computer has FOOD  on the inside of it (a bottle of coke and some doritos) the teacher still doesnt notice the funny smell coming from it.
Man, i should bring my camera one day.

That is........disgusting.

High pitched frat boy scream: "Hey bro, check out my HP iMac!"

I don't think it's all that bad, it even looks to be about the size of a new iMac. I just think that big beefy stand is a bit much for such a small computer... I mean, it... oh, wait... the stand IS the computer. The iMac-sized monitor is just a... monitor. Eeek! ;)

I think the problem with all of these PCs is that they LOOK cheap. Even when they're decently designed, they're not made out of quality material.

Looks like a cross between the Shuttle SB and SN XPC range... one of the more reasonable - scratch - probably the best small-form factor designers of the PC world. It may even be a Shuttle, I've not looked through their catalogue for about a year.

Believe me Mr. Veil, there are much worse than this!

Hey our school bought all the teachers new Shuttle XPC's this year and for a PC it rocks. It looks nice and takes up very little space. I have a 17" LCD and I can tuck the little XPC away. It has very accessible ports on the front of it. Our Tech Coordinator found they are pretty easy to work on and upgrade as well. I think it is a pretty decent PC. I like Macs more then PC's, but if the school is going to buy me one, I am not going to bash it.

We also are slowly converting all of our labs to Shuttle's. They save a lot of space over big towers and they are pretty decent to work on.

This is what they got us and he installed CDRW/DVD/R drives and card readers in the front slots. Pretty much let us select the drive options we wanted. Mine has a 2.8Ghz P4 with 1GB of RAM. Not bad considering they used to have old Gateway towers with 900Mhz Celerons in them.

There's something fishy about this one. Could this have been an early iMac prototype gone bad??

Okay, you can joke PCs all you want but I draw the line at messing the the Commodore 64. There's nothing like saving data to a cassette tape and a 100 baud rate external modem. If you were cool you had the grunting 5.25 floppy that tended to ... overheat, believe it or not. And for entertainment ... you'd dial up some BBS number and search around on someone elses Commodore for games. Oh this was a case thread. Well, here's my submission:

http://www.cooltechzone.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=1520&Itemid=0

I don't think PC users get the idea of sophisticated design. They take function over form to a whole new level and even then can't seem to get it right. This is a classic in the making. I'm thinking of setting one up myself. Please detect the sarcasm in my tone.
