Well the keynote certainly lacked charisma, and Cook's attempt to manufacture charisma came off as yelling. In defense of Apple, the lack of major updates and innovation are the main reason imo, that it came off as boring. The Xs and Xs Max (Gah, I hate that name), are minor updates to the original iPhone X. Its hard to excited about the products when the major feature being touted, is the ability to adjust bokeh on the fly.
