I always saw flagship as the product they want to use to show the world what they are capable of.

Here is my best, most awesomest ship and I shall fly my flag on it!

I would agree, though, I will admit, it would be the most technically advanced version of anything I could make.

One could argue the Stainless Steel is the flagship as it has everything the gold model has, plus it's physically the strongest also, so, technically better.

The softer gold one, you could argue was the inferior product, albeit more expensive.

I think most would agree. People seem to use flagship and halo product interchangeably.

I dislike the term. As with the iPhone debate, it forces people to declare a single best choice when the best may really depend on a person's needs.

Picking a flagship watch when they all perform the same function seems downright silly. If they came out with a second model as a technology showcase, I suppose the term would be a little more acceptable as it is more than a little bigger or a little shinier.

I think they'll be the same as it doesn't make sense to punish someone for having slightly larger wrists, with no meaningful benefit of the bigger product.

I first thought this too, but then remembered that the Omega 007 50th anniversary edition cost about £700 more for the 41mm than the 36mm version, so it's not that much of a stretch to expect an extra 50 for a few more mm.
