I was refearing those those dumb chicks who knows nothing more about an iPad other than it got a bigger screen to facetune their faces
Not knowing the intricacies of technology or caring for one's appearance does not imply ditzy or dumb. They likely just view smartphones and tablets as tools to get things done and are not interested in the technicalities.

Imho, that's actually one of the greatest feature of Apple devices - they're very easy to use even for those who are not technically inclined.

Dear, Lord. Here we go again

The ONLY thing I need a store employee for is to get it from the back. That's it.

I think when somebody purchases an iPad, it's fairly straightforward with what you're purchasing for hardware and software capabilities. And the best way to learn the device is actually physically using it in the store. I have found that beyond what's listed for features on iPad, retail store employees don't have much knowledge past what Apple advertises on their website for technical specifications.

It always pays to do your homework BEFORE you go to the store.

This. It's so easy to research products now that I long since ignore anything most sales people tell me. A lot of them either don't know what they are talking about or have an agenda in pushing something. Knowing exactly what you want just takes all of that out of the equation. There are some salespeople that do know what they are talking about, but those just soft of reaffirm what I research ahead of time.

Reactions: Newtons Apple
I think the correct genre is '"tech" store' with "tech" in parenthesis. The majority of people that work in these store know as much about tech as I know about astrophysics. (That would be none). I've caught them making up stuff many times. It's annoying because to the tech-deficient their answers sound legit.

Lol!! I remember a few years back I got into an "almost heated argument" with a Best Buy guy who claimed that Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD-MA were actually the exact same thing, made by Dolby. I'm not making this up. I was buying a receiver... I tried, gently, to explain it to him but he maintained I was completely wrong. After a while I gave up cause I was starting to lose my calm... fwiw, I work in film music and have been in post-production for more than 15 years, but no, nothing could change his mind. On another occasion I did correct another one who was giving advice to a person but he couldn't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p... true story, again.

I actually feel for the not-tech-savvy customers who need help and think they're gonna get good advice from these guys. At least a car salesman knows more about cars than they know about "tech".

Gonna file that as a NOPE.
I would recommend using the current Apple Education Store pricing.

If you aren't capable of going directly to sellers websites, see pricing, sign up for sale emails for yourself, then nobody can help you here. Stop using whatever website you posted for pricing, they are wrong, and given the word sponsored trying to direct you somewhere. In the last 5 weeks I bought a new model 27 inch IMac, 256 GB 10.5 and a 128GB iPad mini 4 with $100 off each on one or two day sales at Best Buy. Guess you won't believe me either. Apple never has sales, retail stores do, quite often. Don't know how to you could be responsible for purchasing thousands of anything and not know shopping 101, but hey it's the internet. ;)
I was hoping to see a fantastic discount, but instead received sarcasm, but hey it's the internet.

So you refrained from saving $300 to demonstrate brand loyalty? No wonder Apple charges do much.
Really, it was close, but in the end I did not have the time to make the sale, which I noticed two days after it started. Did not think it was worth the money to tell my daughter, please give me your MacAir so that I can return it. Then let's run over to BestBuy and pickup another one. That one was on me, so I just sucked it up.

So you are comapring a bulk purchase of "thousands" of iPads to what an individual person would pay?
Not quite, I have purchased thousands... several at a time. No bulk purchases, except when I make the occasional ten pack orders.

I find that most electronics retailers now are full of people that are going to school or a temporary situation looking for a better job and have very little knowledge on the products they are selling. It’s to the point now if I buy from one it just done online and I pick it up to avoid interacting with them and the hard sell of their extended warranty. In the case of my last purchase a IPP, it was not in stock anywhere but Best Buy. I went into the store to play with it and knew it was in stock. I had could not find anybody to help for 30 minutes. I just ordered it from my phone in the store, went to lunch and picked it up after. After I ordered it on the phone someone finally asked what I needed, I told them I was interested in a IPP. I was told then they had no stock and I should consider a Surface Pro. The salesperson did not even check stock on the computer!

Well said! Its so true, they're just working there while getting their degree. That moron had no business suggesting you what to buy. He probably just needed to get the surface sold as they have too many in stock.

They probably have higher commission on non-Apple products, too.
