I was in a store and saw this. Ok, I guess that needs explaining but I thought it was funny- I have nothing against physically disabled people, but I had never seen anything like this before.

Whilst I'm glad that they are being considerate to the handicap thing, this PC stuff is really getting out of hand, you don't see many if any black manicons, or asian, or hispanic. All you see is celtic white people with white hair. ;)

I've seen black mannequins before, but there are very very few. I don't think I've seen a hispanic or asian one before. I've seen a couple pregnant mannequins but I have never ever seen an overweight mannequin.

Its pretty common to see it nowadays. Most clothes don't work well in wheelchairs and a number of people are spending time in them, some temporary some long term, when I broke my back I spent 3 months in a wheelchair and could not find clothes that worked and looked good, also some companies specialize in easy to put on clothes, its not funny trying to get dressed with a broken arm, broken wrist etc. especially when you dont have anyone to help you. There is a quite large store here dedicated to easy-on,and accessible clothes for special needs, when my partner had a pneumothorax and they put a tube in his chest I found t-shirts there that allowed him to be dressed but allowed access to the tube.

I've never seen overweight mannequins before either but for some reason I've seen lots of underweight ones.

I have seen plenty of Asian mannequins, usually in lingerie store windows. Not sure why.

That is exactly the same with me!!! I have also seen coffee maniac mannequins that have the wierdest facial expressions and biggest smiles ever. They are normally in Marks and Spencers and just look wierd.

For those of you talking about mannequin diversity... I work at Hollister and this African American couple came in and asked about black-colored clothes and my manager was hilarious trying to explain to them that we don't carry any black clothes or clothes with black writing on them because it doesn't comply with the company's image. Another guy and me then raced around the store to make sure there was a poster of a black model put up... thankfully, there was... one.

A prominently white company escapes a lawsuit once again. :)

Daniel.

This is a picture of my cat Psyka. Everytime I look at this picture it cracks me up, so I figured I would share:
