For me it’s the camera of the 12 pro Max. The camera is the most important part of the iPhone for me. That’s why I upgrade. If you are not a photographer, then you don’t the the 12 pro or pro Max. Most people don’t know how to take photos anyway...

after all it is a computer with a phone built in. What do you do with your iPhone? Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat?? If that’s all, then yeah, no need to upgrade. it almost sounds like the iPhone doesn’t have enough bling or change to show others that you’ve upgraded. Let’s be honest, most people do upgrade just to show others that they have done so.... to boast.

I’m a photographer and use an iPhone 12. I can get decent pictures with most cameras.

Don’t assume all those who don’t buy the Pro aren’t into photography as that is patently false.

So there are some new iPhones out. Who cares, really? I don't know whether it's the year (pandemic). Perhaps this year has made me realize that phones aren't a very important thing in life, especially when the phone I have is more than sufficient. Spend another $1,000 on something that really doesn't matter, adds no meaning to life, will be a temporary "wow" and nothing more? Nah.

Am I alone? These new phones don't excite me. Beyond that, they're downright boring. There are just more important things to lust after--like normalcy.
I understand completely. I'm glad I'm not that person who's obsessed with getting a new phone every year. But I am that person who just spent $2500 on two pairs of designer combat boots. It's all subjective to what people feel is worth it for them. Keep in mind though, I don't buy designer Combat boots every year. The last time I bought a pair was 7-10 years ago (I wear and beat them to the ground) and I upgrade my iPhone 3-4 years. My obsessions are designer Combat boots and designer sneakers, but not in abundance and I don't require a collection - one to two pairs of each makes me happy.
