Have they run out of new guests?
Or are there no new ones who dare... :p

yes it does appear that they have run out of ideas - even redoing the football thing, but it is quite fun!

all in all todays episode was rather poor!

but then again poor for top gear still beats most other programmes!

Jeremy's just said they're off the air for the next five weeks – they'll be back in July.

i am excited by the world cup, but displacing top gear! NOOOOOOOOOOO!

This is why I hate football, why do they have to take off a programme for it, there are other channels to put it on. And I only complained about it the other day.

Something terrible has happened:
A Diesel powered car has won Le Mans

Wonder what Clarckson has to say about that...

He might claim that they are cheating! Because they are using diesel which is clearly inferior to petrol (in terms of max power from a similarly speced engine) they are allowed some bonuses to make up. Like bigger engines (5.5l instead of 5l iirc).

Together with the win in Sebring Audi have done an amazing job. The engine size is right on the limit of those allowed by the regulations but the figures it produces are amazing. Combine that with the usual low revving diesel qualities and you have a great endurance engine.

The dawn of diesel power as the favoured form of powerplant for endurance racing is upon us. It will be interesting to see where Peugeot take the technology next year with their V12 as they have invested an awful lot in common rail research.

It says a lot about the state of F1 doesn't it when endurance racing is the one being experimental. :(

Well it is technically a class for prototypes to race in.

Personally I'd like to see a return to less restrictive F1 regulations, but the cars would end up being so much faster and the sport would be so much more dangerous. Still a 6 wheel turbine powered ground effect car would be something to behold!

Even as a small child I much prefered GT racing, the whole atmosphere surrounding the likes of Le Mans is unbeatable there's a real sense of team about the whole thing. The sportsmanship shown between the teams is unique, the Corvette and Aston Martin teams this year were real credits to the sport it was so welcome to see.

If the talk of Porsche bringing their Spider to Le Mans next year is true and if Jaguar and Maserati brought cars to compete in the various classes it would be a truly special event. I'm looking forward to being there.

F1 has been ruined by money and infighting for me at least.

Top Gear is due to return on the 11th of July. Should be good.
That, plus the new Chappelle's episodes, plus It's always Sunny in Philadelphia, it's a good summer for TV.

No it isn't my boy. It's the 16th. I know this as I'm out of the country so will miss it! :(

Right.
We made it!
We have made it through the vacuum... the emptiness... of no Top Gears on Sunday :D

Tonight it's back!

Be sure to be there @ 8 o'clock on BBC 2.

It's been so long I'd forgotten it was on, cheers MacsRgr8, I would have missed it if it wasn't for the reply to post email just now, when I switched on my comp. :) I was about to do something else because TV's been so boring lately.

Any cars on it this week??? ;)

On a side note... Top Gear were filming the new Jag on the London Road/A46 near the Jag plant about a month ago, how do I know this... because I almost wipped 'em out at 70. :D

*Doctor Claw Voice*I'll get you next time Clarkson... next time.
