it certainly looks like you've got some Intel Optane SSDs mounted inside the Mac Pro. I'm particularly interested in random I/O results in comparison to the built-in SSD. also, I'd like to know if these SSDs will boot macOS... would it be possible for you to run some tests? benchmark utility:

I did a quantum leap in computing several years ago in some ways like the OP just did (but it wasn't nearly as expensive back then) and within 2 weeks I wished my state of the art monster machine was 10X faster (I did 3D stuff for a living). Sadly the 7,1 is far from being a quantum leap from what we've had previously but the cost to get where it's at is astronomically higher.
