I'm sick of you guys. Think you are better by "holding out"? Well, you'll only miss out on the most "magical" device then. As the second poster said, the iPhone OS is much more mature than version iPhone OS 1.0. App store is well established. Technology is already explored with iPhone and iPod Touch. The risk of Version 1 faults was greater with iPhone 2G then with iPad 1.0 IMHO.

So while you are waiting for something that may not happen (camera..etc), I will be enjoying my iPad. Besides who needs a camera anyways? The iPhone camera is crappy, that is why I have a real digital camera. Multitasking is rumored for iPhone 4.0, and I'm sure will be translated over into iPad as well.

Enjoy that high horse you are on! Yes there will always be better and improved versions down the road, but not worth the wait....otherwise one will always wait for a better tomorrow while forgetting to enjoy the present. iPad is here, after 10+ years after Newton. Enjoy it goddamn it!

As you can see from my signature i have a laptop, a very portable one that does 80% of what the ipad does way better than the ipad does it (web, iwork on ipad plssssss) and it can run flash. I said i am waiting on the second gen because i really cannot see myself using that thing when i have a MBP. I know that you can never race with he technology but for me waiting is translated in better value for my money. And damn sure i want flash and more than 16 GIGs for my 500 dollars...

I think by the time I save up enough spare change to buy the Ipad it will be V2 anyways:mad:

I started storing away some case but then the water bill came and that was the end of that LOL

I'm jealous of you guys getting it this week- congrats!!!

ipad fan

Why wait? It will be a long wait and by that time you can sell you current iPad and move onto the next gen if available.. Or you just don't have money to spare right now that's fine.

have u heard anything about the ipad wifi+3g.has the date of release been pushed back

Add me to this.

I love the current iPad, but I want to wait.

Couple of reasons:

a) iPhone OS 4.0 - multitasking
b) Hardware - There won't be any major changes, but I would like to see some more space for the 3G models and a lower price. $130 more is a bit much, but if I had to buy it today, I'd do it anyway. :p
c) Tactile Feedback - I'm just dreaming, but Apple filed a patent for iPhone a while back on screen technology that would allow you to actually feel the keys/buttons you pressed. This would be incredibly useful for typing with the onscreen keyboard, and while it's a pipe dream, it's a possibility nonetheless.
d) I don't need it right now  - I have a hackintoshed netbooked that I use to take notes in class, and it's doing ok. When I get to university, which is in about 1 year, precisely when I want to buy the iPad, it'll probably go 2nd gen, and who knows that goodies Apple can add. :)

Not solid reasons, I know. I'm not a hater of the current iPad, far from it, I'd just kill myself if I bought one now not entirely needing it, knowing I could've waited, and the 2nd gen has some kind of big upgrade. Add this to the fact I can survive off a netbook for one more year.

I'm kinda waiting

My version 1 iPad has shipped from China. I figure I will probably use it for a year, then it goes to the family pool of devices. (When I upgrade, someone gets my old stuff for free). I figure my mother gets the version one for her church books so she only has to carry 1.5 pounds.

Then I will get the new version. That way, I can continue to use one of the best looking big ipod touches, which is what I really wanted. (I read alot.) And then I can get the new stuff when it comes out. (and my relatives enjoy the rewards).
