Essentially, yes. However, the chance of that happening is very, very small...

I think we have to wait because they are going to be in more then just the apple store and it takes time to work deals out with stores.
 
Let me ask you this. Can you pre-order and pickup in an Apple Store? Has this been available in the past? I'd like to get from my local Apple Store, but have no interest in going and standing in line for a long period of time; especially if they were to run out.

They did that with the iPhone 3GS, they had a line with if you pre-ordered online, but I think it was for new AT&T contracts only.
 
I wish there was a way or maybe even a leak to find out the FCC projected approval date or maybe even to know at what stage it is currently in.
