The thing about them is after time they disintegrate, for some time in my flat I was overrun with cockroaches and some got in my Printer under the scanner, I thought I would have to throw the printer out, but I managed to get rid of the infest I had. There was no sign of them in the printer. Of course, it is one thing throwing out a £50 printer.Well, I have a 2019 21.5 inch custom build iMac. 5 months old and it’s just happened to me again.
I say again as it happened on my late 2015 iMac. I never got that resolved as it was old when it happened and ended up selling it with the big still inside.
however my 2019 model being only 5 months old I’m taking to Apple. I’ve had mixed reports as to whether they will cover it or not under the limited warranty.
but i certainly can’t live with it there it will bug the hell out of me.
the question I have is if and when I get it resolved ( I believe the only soloution is a display replacement) how the hell to stop it in the future? I was thinking( not ideal) getting some super fine mesh to cover all the air intakes. As well as keeping some insect repellent on the desk.
Other than that I don’t know but I am regretting buying another iMac as it seems to be quite common of you search google.
mill let you know what Apple day later when I’ve been.
Have you asked them if it is covered? The thing about bugs is they like heat bugs get in all electrical equipment, it is one thing being in electrical equipment, and another getting in a screen. Try this
