So, with USB-C there is no connectivity between iPhone and iPad, correct? Is this just showing the iPhone charging off the iPad?

I have a 18W usb-c charger from Google (Pixel phone), as well as a Google usb-c to usb-a cable. I wonder if I could use these with the new iPad Pro 11" I ordered?
It would be nice to be able to use the Google charger as a second charger for the iPad and the usb-c to usb-a would be good to use to sync the iPad to my older, usb-a only Mac (2012 Mini).

cant see any reason that it wouldnt

Anyone concerned about longevity of the port? I fear the thin connector-plate inside the port may wear out when you plug in assecoires and power cable every day for years.

Is that possible ? Looks like the Apple USB-C to HDMI etc. adapters are NOT compatible with iPad Pro 2018. Was wondering how to connect an iPad Pro to e.g. a TV or projector.
Damn, that sucks. Such a stupid limitation.

Sure? Apple says that the new iPad Pro supports "[v]ideo mirroring and video out support: Up to 4K through USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter and USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter (adapters sold separately)". This adapter supports HDMI.

I wish it was true. I want to stream netflix and VLC stuff to a HDMI TV on the go (for example in a hotel room).

Now give us a proper file system and the ability to connect external storage and make us happy!

I suppose you can not connect external storage on the new iPad Pro? (yet)

Does anyone know of any USB-c HDMI captured cards. I’m wondering if the USB-c will be bidirectional. I’ve been attempting to want to make an app that relies on video input from an external device

The USB-C port seems of limited use. For example you cannot transfer files with it other than photos. Even the old lightning adapter can transfer photos with USB-3 speed and there was also an HDMI adapter. I see no reason to connect a 5K Display to the new iPads just to mirror the content or watch Netflix. Even charging with USB-C power supplies was possible before....

I bet USB storage will come with iOS 13. When Apple switched to USB-C it was an indication that they’re serious about making iPad Pro more productive.

I would love to see that we could use the new Pro as main screen for the new MacMini :)

I can use the iPad for 75% of all my daily use, but for iTunes backups and (ahem) file downloads, I still need an iMac,
there are some screen mirror options, but that would still need a main screen to startup.

Is it possible to connect two devices in the same port? At the same time

For example, headphone plus another

With a hub

I'm confused about the charging cable for the new iPad pro. I know the cable end that plugs into the iPad is USB C. What type of connection is at the other end of cable?(that plugs into the charging adapter)
