Yeah, it will be my first. I just have a couple slow lenses right now -- the 18-55mm kit (3.5-5.6) and the 55-200mm VR (4-5.6). Sharp in plenty of light, but next to worthless in moderate and low-light situations. I'm excited about having a f/1.4. I might have to wait for my birthday though (in Feb) -- my wife seems to think I'm already getting enough toys for Christmas as it is

I'm just curious, but if you're talking about things that you want but don't have, why would you not want a 30" Apple Display rather than a Dell?

I can't speak for him, but I would take a Dell (the 3008wfp, anyway) over the Apple just about any day. Here's the main reasons why:

The dells have a lower response time. I read somewhere that the ACD's have a 16ms reponse time.
