I just think with the 'one more thing' line, that it can only be one thing. i.e., ipods. That is my guess anyway.

For those of you keeping track, the wait times have changed just in the last hour or so...

All 15 inch PBs and 17 inch PBs are now 6-8 business days with ANY upgrades. (12 inch PBs have not changed)

All imacs are 5-7 business days with ANY upgrades.

All Powermacs are 5-7 business days with ANY upgrades.

All others (emacs, mac minis, ibooks) appear to have normal waiting times.

prepare for a letdown...

Seriously!

Don't get me wrong i'd love to see vidPods as i have stated many many times, and I'd really like to see an Airport Express A/V, I am bracing myself to be very underwhelmed with the announcement.

At this point I would not even be surprised if it is something completely lame like only an announcement. I'd like to be overwhelmed with a G5 PowerBook or an iPod Pico that projects video images on my retinas but i am also expecting to be underwhelmed with say.......a Madonna iPod.

Underwhelmed is actually not the right word for the release of an Madonna iPod, more like pissed.

Wait, wait, I've got it! Ready? Here's the news: Something will be announced tomorrow. There, I said it and that should put me in the same league as TS, right?

I betcha they are releasing some more dumb @$$ ipods. That is all Apple cares about anyway. We were kidding ourselves thinking they would devote a whole afternoon to a macintosh computer.
I can't reveal my source, so don't ask, but a VERY reliable person in the know told me that Apple is planning to switch to Intel chips next year, and has ALREADY ported OS X, ported iLife, and given tools to developers to port their apps. If this is true, then Apple is very busy on the computer side of things, with great stuff in the works. And what if (this is me speculating now) they have new Macs coming even before the Intel switch?

It is a shame IBM and Motorola haven't delivered the laptop chip improvements Apple needs, but happily Intel will!

The lack of specificity actually makes your prediction a more responsible one than what has been forthcoming from TS.

I hope intel does come through. But, in the meantime, IBM and Motorola have to have something in the works. Errh, maybe not. Here I come Madonna ipod...
