Hi,
I'm thinking of buying the AirPod Max as I need something that can cancel the noise outside and also work perfect with my hole Apple Ecosystem.
I have everything in Apple ecosystem so I think that the AirPods Max will work fine for me.

My Q is, will they update them anytime soon? I can wait for some time as I have the AirPod 2 also.

Nobody knows, but Gurman said a few weeks ago that Apple is not working at all on a gen 2 for now. In general, Apple updates very slowly it’s audio devices, so I don‘t think we will see a major update in the next 2-3 years.

I think it is also conceivable that the AirPods Max end up like the original HomePod: amazing sound but priced too high for most people. I could see them never getting a V2 and instead getting discontinued after a while. Not saying that will for sure happen. But it’s possible.

Bottom line: if you want them, go for it. I don’t think you will see a revision anytime soon.

Not expected to be revised anytime soon, except perhaps new colors. Definitely pick them up at $450–475 and not full price.

I'd take advantage of the recent price breaks. I really don't think Apple will update them soon. I too worry that this might be a "one of". Maybe they will just go cheap on a Beats style headphone...yeck!

They do work so well with my M1 MacMini, two iMacs, iPad, and iPhone. Once I experienced how well they work with other Apple devices, it is hard to go back to my other brand wireless headphones.

None of us know what Apple might do but I've not seen any rumors that would suggest an update anytime soon. Airpods Pro have been around quite a while and rumors would suggest we won't see an update till sometime next year.

I am not sure what people expect a V2 might have? The Airpods Max replaced my Sennheiser bluetooth headphones from 2015 and its pretty much the same. The build is better, literally 10 seconds to swap the earpads is amazing. The auto-switching is nice. But other than that, its basically the same as my Sennheiser was. It also did noise cancellation pretty well.

Difference here is its Bluetooth which I can use them on my Windows computer. I could not use the Homepod for anything Windows related.

I purchased a set last week and the thought didn't even cross my mind to be honest. They were only released in December and as others have pointed out, they don't tend to update their headphones often. There's not really as many year-over-year improvements they can make to headphones like they do iPhones and iPads, because headphones as a whole are a very mature technology (and the rate of improvement with smartphones and tablets has slowed down too in recent years as they naturally mature).

If you look at the AirPods line in general, the AirPods Pro haven't been updated yet despite being released in October 2019. The basic AirPods even longer, with the 2nd Gen being released in March 2019, and the 1st Gen coming out over two years before that.

If you were asking about AirPods Pro or the base AirPods I would say maybe exercise caution, but the AirPods Max I highly doubt you'd need to worry about a new version being released anytime soon.

They'll do everything you need based on what you described - integrate extremely well with your existing Apple devices whilst providing solid noise cancellation. If you want them, purchase and enjoy!

Agreed. What sold me on these headphones is my old Sennheiser had a pairing limit that I was exceeding every....single.....day. Yes, I have that many devices. And my Airpods Max do not seem to have a pairing limit. I even added the PS4 on to the pairing list!

I would be surprised to see a Gen 2 in the next two years. It’s a great product. Get apple care or equivalent and you’re set

Get them - was on the fence but bit when I saw them on Amazon Germany and got for 412 GBP. Absolutely love them and the integration is fantastic. They just work brilliantly without any hassle.

Then I’ll buy them in the end of this month :) thanks!
I get it for 499 Euro :)
Hopefully you will be happy with them! Been thinking about them myself but can't justify the price for how little usage they would get. By the way they are around 460€ on Amazon.de. Just wanted to mention it :)

Go for them, they're great especially if you do have all those Apple devices. I absolutely love mine, are they my best sounding headphones? Nopes - but they are the ones that gets the most listening time by far, I probably listen 5-10 hours a day. With the transparency mode there's really no need to take them off that often at home.

There's always something new on the horizon... But the APM's are great now, and after Apple release the next version.

You can get them even cheaper. Amazon Warehouse has them for $359 Acceptable fairly often. I bought them at that price and added AppleCare+ (no problem doing that). The ones I bought had a buzzing noise when playing bass, so I used Express Replacement and had a new pair sent to me from Apple overnight. APC+ is $59 and there's no deductible unless you damage them, in that case it's $29. Amazon Warehouse inventory for these changes almost hourly, so you have to keep checking to grab some at $359. They go very quickly when they appear.

There's not a lot of new tech coming out each year for any headphones. I have Sony MDR-V6 headphones that were first introduced in 1985 and were still being sold with those exact same specifications until a year or so ago. They're still probably the most popular headphones in recording studios all over the world, despite a tech that 36 years old.

So, there's not really a lot of room for improvement on the APM's, other than new colors, maybe a new shape, a few software tweaks like an Off option. Unless Apple changes their AAC codec, or allows non-Apple codecs, APM's 5 or 10 years from now will probably sound about as they do today.

There will be an iOS update in the next few months that is supposed to improve the performance of the APMs.

First I have heard of that. All the iOS15 Beta features and Beta firmwares have been focused on AirPods Pro.

The HomePod would still be around if Tim could sell you replacement grills at $100 each

If you like them as is, buy them for sure!

I don't think an update is ever coming personally.
I think APM's are going to go the way of the HomePod

Do you? Why? I that the APM has its limited users but they still sell.

for me it’s perfect when I need to isolate my self
