The case does look great, but I just don't know about picking up another magic keyboard. I can get a similar bluetooth one for a fraction of the cost, unless maybe I find a good priced used one.

I remembered you mentioning that in the past about the contact paper, and am thinking that might be exactly what I do!

depending on how much you’ll use it with the iPad, do you think the hassle of pairing and unpairing would significantly slow your workflow down? For me at least taking the keyboard with the iPad is a 1-2x monthly kind of thing so I don’t mind. The rest of the time I use it for other stuff.

You mean if I used the magic keyboard I already have, and just unpaired it from my iMac? For the times when I'd need it away from home, that really wouldn't be an issue. It might be once every couple months.

There are times when I would use my iPad with a keyboard at home, just because it's easier than turning on the iMac, so I was thinking just an inexpensive bluetooth keyboard/stand for those times would be great.

After holding out for so long, I am ready to get a 256GB Mini 5. They're $100 off at Best Buy, and with decent trade-in values for the Mini 4 and 6th gen iPad, I was going to trade them in for the Mini 5... but because of the quarantine, BB isn't doing walk-in trade-ins. So I wait.
Well, it's 4 months later, but I finally pulled the trigger.... traded in my Mini 4 and iPad 6. It was only $50 off on sale, but Best Buy's trade-in values for those two devices have held steady for so long, I know they're about to drop significantly soon.

Performance is significantly better than the Mini 4 and iPad 6. I like that the physical chassis of the 5 hasn't changed from the 4. That allows me to continue to use my Product (RED) smartcover, Zagg keyboard case, and extra matte screen protector. And because it supports the Apple Pencil 1, I still get to use it.

Since I have no interest in the new iPad Pro form-factors, this will most likely be the last iPad I own, so I'm delighted to have something with 3GB RAM and 256GB storage. That'll last me for the foreseeable future.

Now I need to rework my PDF-based digital journal to be optimized for the smaller screen size.
