I couldn't take it any longer!

I had to take my chances and order my next MBA....I ordered the refurb. rev. C, with 2.13 and the SSD. It arrives Friday! I will sell my rev. A on ebay shortly.

So, now that I've pulled the trigger on mine, this will guarantee the rest of you will be getting a new MBA to look at. With my luck, now we will have the big announcement and the big price drop!! Oh well, we'll see.

Thanks for all the comments here though. I'm looking forward to be wowed by my new MBA. I sure hope I will be able to tell the difference in my performance over my rev. A.........;-)

If a mac newbie like me could see a difference between a rev A 1.6 and my new rev B 1.6, you will definitely see a difference.

Oh you will definitely see a difference.

I bought a rev. A with SSD after the first price drop, but I soon learned to regret that decision as I had numerous problems requiring it to go back to AppleCare for repairs and in the end I gave it to my wife and continued using my 17" MBP.

After the third repair in 12 months though Apple replaced it with a rev. C and for the first time I loved the MBA. The 128gb SSD is much more liveable for me as the 64gb was quite limiting, but the speed and the heat/fan noise is like night and day.

I run it with a 21.5" Iiyama screen when I'm at home and carry it out every day to various places to work. It feels fast in use (nothing heavy like VMs or Photoshop mind you, but I use it for work and play every day).

Now the wife has the MBP, and if the MBA broke or got stolen (god forbid) I would buy another in an instant. Can't get a better recommendation than that! On the subject of SSDs too, I'd now never buy another machine with a traditional HDD over an SSD.

I agree, I cannot bear to use a laptop with a traditional drive now.

And there are other things that you just won't be able to go back to after using an Air. For instance, any notebook over 4lbs will just feel so heavy and bulky. I use my girlfriend's 13 inch macbook pro and it feels awkward because my palms are so elevated due to how thick the machine is.

Love My New Refurb MBA

Hi,

Just wanted to report back........

I received my refurb MBA 2.13/128GB SSD.

So far, so good. I love it and notice it is peppier than my rev A unit.

Just an awesome Mac. And it looked brand new when it came out of the box!

Thanks for all the help and advice here!
