I put my series 10 up on OfferUp in early April for a competitive price. Included pictures. Have good reviews on my profile. The whole deal.

I’ve gotten a single lowball offer in an entire month and that’s it.

Wife put hers up on OfferUp as well at about the same time. Same thing. She put hers up on swappa as well and haven’t gotten any responses either.

In the past whenever I sold an apple product. ANY apple product they were always incredibly easy to sell. I’d put it up and it would be sold within a day or two. A month later? This is unheard of.

Is it declining demand for Apple Watches? Tariffs and recession worries?

think to yourself the reason why are you selling is it a necessity or is the used market saturated in these at lower price, is your price substantially lower than a new one or others , i’ve often seen various used models trying to be sold at a price that is only 50-75$ cheaper than a new one and when you see amazon do their happy hours it’s often cheaper than a model on the used market. their could be numerous reasons but often overpriced used items don’t shift too quickly. often owners perception of a used one value is different from the prospective buyer’s. good luck in selling them

are you in the US? the series 10 has the blood oxygen disabled. The series 9 has a reasonable chance of having it. If I was buying a used watch, I'd probably go for the slightly older (and most likely cheaper) option with more features.
This is the reason why I’m waiting. While the blood oxygen sensor isn’t critical to what I need, the new models don’t have anything new and lose a feature. It’s like downgrading rather than upgrading.

How much would you sell a series 10 46mm for?

No idea.

Alu/Steel?
Cellular?
Condition?
Colour?
Location?
Band(s)?

Those are all things that I'd need to factor in. One option is to look at closed listings on Ebay. Another is to check other S10 watches in your local FB Marketplace etc.

EDIT: Oh and battery life and transferable Apple Care are factors too.

Honestly, looking at listings I get the feeling most sellers overvalue what they’re selling. I’ve seen series 10 aluminum’s used on OfferUp for as much as $300. Considering a brand new one is about that price, crazy bad deal.

Mine is a jet black 46mm WiFi only model in aluminum with the Nike loop band. I put mine up for $200.

Yeah it's rough selling an aluminium one. I sold my aluminium S8 for I think CAD$350 or $400, from what I recall, about a year after launch. It did still have AppleCare which I transferred to the buyer. I'd look for any sort of differentiation like that which can be added. Also make sure your photos are good etc.

Also I only ever sell them with third party bands and I keep the Apple bands.

No more than half its original cost, which was $399.
Literally the only reason I was able to get an Apple Watch Ultra is because someone was selling it used for cheaper than a brand new regular one.
Especially with how often you can find the watch on sale, the only way to get any interest in a used one is if the price is very low.

I've seen a few articles in the last month, discussing that Apple Watch sales have declined the last 2 years. As others have mentioned, there aren't any significant new features, the O2 sensor has been disabled in the US, In addition, I think garmin and android options are getting better smartwatch features than they used to, so Apple has more competition in the smartwatch arena now.

The 2nd hand market in AW is saturated at the moment. Pricing is a dealbreaker as well. In the UK and US, I see people trying to sell at a second-hand price higher than Amazon, and others are doing offers on new.

As others have mentioned, the 20% decline in AW sales suggests people are both hanging on to what they have, as well as there being less demand for 1st time users right now.

Interestingly, whilst Apple is seeing a decline in demand, Huawei, Xiaomi, Samsung and other companies are seeing strong demand for their watches. Probably because it's a newer thing for them, and they have only really started producing useful devices more recently than Apple. The Xiaomi Watch S1 is pretty nice for the price and features.

yep, I still have an S4 (which I bought used) and just keep replacing the battery. All I want it to do is tell the time and record my activity/sleep, which it does just fine. When it eventually dies I'll be getting a Garmin.
Well as someone that has always had an Apple Watch (since 2015) and switched to garmin recently, I’m here to tell you the grass is definitely greener on the other side. I wish I would’ve switched years ago but I was so baked into the apple ecosystem I never considered it until my wife got one for running and I saw all the stuff it could do. I charge my watch once every couple weeks. I’ll never get over how cool that is

I've a Garmin instinct 2X with a months worth of battery and an Ultra 2, the Garmin is in a drawer!

Battery isn't everything!

I think it’s easily forgot that it’s just a watch. Even if there are many new features, most people will just want the watch to look at time and receive notifications etc

That’s it for most.

I just use my own Apple Watch to check time, check messages and occasionally use a timer etc

Smart watches, including Apple’s, have some of the worst resell values in tech. Look at the trade-in value from Apple as an example and you’ll see that an already niche device when most people already have a phone in their pocket creates redundancy. Add the uptick in interest for traditional watches in the recent years and low interest make sense cause someone already has one or doesn’t want it.

Same can be said for tablets. Devices that have little to no changes in their core functionality whether related to hardware or software creates stagnation.

Different strokes my man. Battery isn’t everything, but the garmin has consistently better metrics, tracks my sleep FAR better, easily shows things at a glance like heart rate variability and documents stress levels, love the body battery feature. A watch face store! Omg. Yes! I’ve wanted one from apple since the very beginning. And the big one…my Apple Watch’s total daily calorie burn was always about 300-400 higher than it should’ve been. Apple, in my case, grossly overestimates resting calories to the point any data in that regard was totally untrustworthy.

I like the forerunner and fenix line as well and them having actual dedicated flashlights built in instead of just lighting up the watch screen. There’s a lot to like. The fact I can still use Siri, set timers, reminders, take calls means I didn’t miss my Apple Watch one bit. I literally wore both for awhile and saw that apple was consistently giving me credit for doing things I shouldn’t get credit for. Move my arm? Boom 30 calories added. Like what? lol

But I’m glad the Apple Watch works well for you. Everybody has their use cases. I never found myself using really any apps on the Apple Watch since they all felt pretty watered down and I would just use my phone for certain purposes anyway. As a health tracker, my garmin has my heart.

Ps: give that garmin watch a good home! Little guy deserves better than sitting in a drawer getting all dusty if you’re not gonna use it

I do like my garmin but as a runner I love that I with the AWU2 I can leave my phone at home and still have a means off communications with me. If Garmin ever do cellular on a watch it'd convert me 100%.

I'm aware that it's DC'ed, but it did work well. Buddy used on for years.

I just ordered a Forerunner 265s with some credit card rewards and a discount via my work insurance. My Series 6 doesn't last a day anymore, and needs to be charged before my after-work runs. I looked at the Ultra, but it's just too big for me. I'm a thin guy, with thin wrists and just don't like bulky watches. Additionally, I rarely used the smart stuff on my Apple Watch. I didn't use siri on it, or take calls, or responds to texts. All notifications are disabled.

The large model Series 10 is too big for me, too. The large Series 7-9 was my upper limit.

Not sure I'll stick with the Garmin, but I'm curious...last owned a Garmin before the Series 3. I've been regularly doing 2-4 hour trail runs and my Apple Watch doesn't cut it, plus where I trail run there is zero cell service, from any company, so not concerned about that.

It's the battery health. After a couple years, an Apple watch is in pretty bad shape. My S6 is at 72% and worth virtually nothing.

I've seen this issue with Swappa in general. The advice I got was to post a link to my socials to get more traffic to my listing. I did so but I also asked someone who has a moderate tech following on Threads to do the same and it sold that evening. Prior to that I had it listed for about 6 days with hardly any views. There are so many businesses on Swappa now that it has flooded that market for regular people to sell their devices.
Others may have had a different experience but I'm not going to try to sell things on my own anymore.
You could try r/appleswap on reddit. I had success there a few years ago and enjoyed that process better than swappa. No fees either.

I've had great luck with Swappa buying and sell phones, but not watches. I did sell my Series 3 on there years ago. Not enough people post the battery health, which I think, is the most important spec.
